Vid's Blueprint Fix/Workaround [UPDATED Aug 01 2015]

This mod will ensure that the default blueprints balance each ship's defenses again, rather than stacking only one type of defense. Additionally, it improves several of the default blueprints, such as adding interstellar drives to the freighters, and giving every ship a better filler suite. Assault Fighters and drones are unchanged. However, many ships will now add a lot more engines once they get the room, where they often stopped doing so before.

UPDATE: Fixed the Assault Carrier blueprints, which were pointing to the nonexistent EscortCarrierModule. Reworked default Carriers so that they will always add an engine before a second Carrier mod.

Downloading.  

Is it possible to script the AI to prepare for war prior to declaration? That's the next big AI issue.  If the AI can be programmed to make surprise attacks with ten maxed out fleets (and a transport with each) at a time that would be something.

Good news, you can use both. :) The AI mod uses the append method for its AI defense ship blueprints, so they should coexist peacefully.

Sadly, that is not something a modder can do. I wish.

Thanks I am in a game which is a done deal and may start a new one. I really need to complete a game on Insane but after 300+ turns you can tell you are going to win...

The 1.2 patch drastically altered the Blueprints file, looks like this is going to need a significant overhaul as is any mod altering the blueprints file.

Bummer cause I was really enjoying this mod in combo with your better wartime AI.
