Hey...how about fixing the issue where medium hulls don't show up until large hulls has been researched?  That one has been around forever.

Maybe the problem with medium hulls not showing up is that there is no scout predefined for medium hulls (means, a ship without any weapon tech). You must research some weapon techs before medium hulls show up, even, if you researched medium hulls before. But you can create own ships with medium hulls as soon as you researched medium hulls.

(or it is a bug which I never encountered...)

No, its a known bug. Basically several of the medium hulls for the stock ships are tag with 'Large' hulls on them so the game doesn't release them until you research large hulls. It may also be handicapping the AI as they may not push to get large hulls like a human might and that leaves them with small and tiny while humans run around with medium to large.

I'm getting an interesting change in the audio. Sound for the First Something videos has stopped playing, but star base management has a background sound that is new or somehow escaped my notice during hours of playing earlier releases.

Yeah, I have odd audio dropouts periodically--- the clicks and bloops in the interface will suddenly go silent and then several turns later they come back fora  while... and go out again. Not as inconvenient as only having point defenses for defense abilities, though!

Sorry to read that you are having sound issues. Do you mind sending a save to support so I can have a better idea of what is going on?

Stardock,

Are you going to update and/or add to 'update 1.12' or is this going to be it for the time? Currently this is Opt in only and I am one of the ones who cannot seem to get it to work. I imagine when you officially release it my game will properly update.

Currently we are working with Valve to try and figure out why this has happened. I will be glad to update as soon as I have more information.

Thanks, much appreciated. I've had to shelve my current game as I ran into the dreaded hang after hitting the turn button again. Yes, new game started on the latest official release and the problem is still there in some form. I've sent Derek a link to my save game before this happens. Can't wait to be able to play again. Hard to believe after all these months of playing the betas and released game, I've only manage to actually finish one game with the size map, type of victory condition I prefer and the number of players I like in my games. Looking forward to being able to finish another one!

I find that you get more immediate reponses if you paste the filename, line, and snippet of the offending xml.

Is anyone else seeing galactic event pages that are mixed up with ideology choices that you can't click?

Yes, in my case it were the remaining choices of a multiple choice event before.

Maybe it has something to do with the scale of the UI? I played on normal (second smallest)

Indeed. Thankfully someone else has already done that. We are just awaiting the devs to fix it.

In reference to seeing:

or

"Yes, in my case it were the remaining choices of a multiple choice event before."

Which Resolution and UI size are you playing at?

And while we are at it. Please stardock, dont forget the preset ship blueprints only use point defense!

Is the unresponsive UI fixed in 1.12? I refuse to play another game like this :P

In reference to unresponsive UI, can you provide anymore details? Is it a certain resolution size or UI scale? I am unsure what you mean.

I would love to get this fixed. If you have any information and save files on the specific designs that contain this error it would be greatly appreciated. Is this issue in reference to ships downloaded in steam workshop or core ships provided by the game?

The whole of shipclassdefs is riddled with errors tbh.

The previous issue (where the wrong blueprint was used) was largely cleared up prior to 1.1, but there's still some examples of incorrect blueprints (line 3673, Altarian Ranger P uses FrigateP blueprint rather than RangerP blueprint) and other classes are missing hull definitions (all Iridium Rangers have no defined size).

Me too. And the upgrade ship-bug

https://forums.galciv3.com/468797

is also related to that UI-size, when I changed to "small"-ui it was gone.

I wanted to mention that 1.12 was released today. It is no longer in the opt-in branch but is now the current latest build.

This will probably prevent upgrading the starbase module for anti-missile defenses:

StarbaseModuleDefs.xml, Line 1110: <UpgradesFrom>CounterMeasureModule </UpgradesFrom>

The extra space needs to be removed, as the module name does not have the additional space.

I tested the update. The notification list still disappears and reappears every time you delete a notification. Also, the minimap resets the zoom factor and orientation every time I move a ship...
