Will this build be the final or will the one on the 29th be different?

RTM release to manufacture is normaly a final version,
However it still seems unsure since 10240 was only declared as prefinal from MS according to Winfuture.
They also mention that the concept of RTM would not exists anymore but the version 10240 would fit something that could be called final RTM.

I imagine that there will be a day1 patch comming up on 29th or later

Installed it last night, seems a bit faster now so no complaints in that regard. But it is still extremely UGLY on the UI, can't wait for Stardock to get WB 10 going!  :P

I'm hoping WB 10 and other stuff is up and running by the time I'm ready.

Oh ok i have not tested that, if you find the time could you try something for me? (my dual boot system isnt set up due to some issues yesterday) would appreciate it if you could.
Disable cortana and press windowskey+ F and search any application, and let me know if it then will use the windows8 charmsbar style quicksearch or the windows 10 startmenu.
Thanks in advance

Sorry, I have been very busy lately and have not had time to go into Windows 10 benmanns. I will try today hopefully.  :)

Oh, and just so people know, if you find any 10240 ISO files to download and try to install on the Internet, don't waste your time. You cannot activate them as there are no valid product keys and Microsoft won't allow anything but people who are Windows Insider members to upgrade to 10240, period. Everyone else must wait for July 29th or later.

Btw, folks it looks like the Home path user will have 'mandatory', no choice but 'install them all' updates/upgrades' from MS.

tried today to get another iso file from the insider program but im already locked out...
Sadly i removed the last build from my drive when i formated so i also have to wait till the 29th...
Also ty LightStar for the input im realy curious if disabling cortana will end up in a different search ^^

Which is THE single most important reason why I'm not sure I want to go there.

Finally got back to looking in Windows 10 benmanns and noticed that Cortana was activated again in this build and I could not find a way to turn it off. I did notice however that I don't have to use that service unless I click the microphone in the taskbar searchbox. I can also just type my input, but using Cortana or typing brings up the same search interface either way.

Oh well ...  :S
