Installation Warning - Solved

How to restore my original desktop

When installing fences, it provides choice for letting Fences organize the desktop (suggested and specifies EASY TO UNDO) or do it myself (for advanced).

I did not like how Fences organized my dozens of icons (yes many icons, which is why I thought Fences would be a good idea to help with grouping them).

THERE APPEARS TO BE NO EASY WAY TO UNDO WHAT HAS BEEN DONE. I disabled FENCES and now all the icons are bunched up in 12 columns and no longer grouped the way they were before installation of FENCEs.

WHERE IS THE EASY WAY TO UNDO WHAT HAS BEEN DONE?

Right click the desktop, choose Configure Fences.

Go down the left side and choose Layout and Snapping.

Layout snapshots section. Click on the Pre-Install Snapshot. It'll open a snapshot window. At the lower right end of this window, there'll be a button to restore the snapshot.

See attached video.

It's easy!

Thank you VERY much!

It's a miracle... and/or it WAS easy, as you stated.

I did search the forum before reaching frustration, but could not find the solution you provided.

Perhaps StarDoc developers will include this simple restore instruction for 'newbies' who fear change like I do.

In any case this forum thread will help any who follow.

Thanks again and now my other post on uninstall is not complete becomes immaterial.

Would you kindly add the word Solved to your title above, so people needing this advice might better find it?  ;)
