DLC

Are we likely to see any DLC in the near future? I don't expect anyone from Stardock to give me exclusive information about upcoming products, but it would be nice to have a vague idea about what to expect. I've been playing since the first or second beta, and my wallet is ready for some DLC.

Here's one of Brad's posts:

"There's going to be 3 DLC released in 2015 with the first one next month[June] which will add a map editor and a series of "balanced" maps."

I'll try to look for more.

Edit:

"Re DLC. Typical DLC price will probably be around $4.99. So for instance, the first DLC will be a map pack complete with a map editor to make your own custom galaxies."

The Steam Sale and E3 pushed things back a bit.  "Early July" is the ETA for the first DLC (the map editor and a map pack).

Here is the current roadmap, as posted by Frogboy over at Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/app/226860/discussions/1/530645446305784807/)

In another thread we discussed the wish lists for GalCiv III.

Our tentative update schedule is:

v1.1: Early July (would have been this month except for the Steam sale and E3)
v1.2: August (looking at random events and more UI polish, AI updates, etc.)
v1.3: September (looking at politics and diplomacy, plus more UI, large empire automation, etc.)
v1.4: October (battle system focus, AI, etc.)
v1.5: November (TBD)

Each of these updates will also make available DLC.

The first DLC will be the map pack and map editor

=====

So, bascially, when 1.1 is released. Probably. ;)

Love the free updates along with the mentioned DLC releases, however, what I don't understand is why is there so many post release content to bring the game up to where it should be?  To me half of this stuff should have been in the gold version on release and wasn't.

Thanks though to Stardock for bringing us these features and adding to the game.  This shows the customer and everyone of the like that Stardock is committed to the customer and their game and will give us a great final product from a great company. :)  Thank you.

Hopefully, by October, we will see the game as it should have been at release

Good to see Stardock have arranged for regular updates so everyone has months - nay, years! - of complaining "It's still not ready!" or, as we say in English "It's not the way I like it!! AARRRGGHHH!!"

I fully expect Stardock will do a great job with the espionage system and I fully expect that there will be something about the espionage system that I won't particularly like and I fully expect Stardock to at some point read my complaints about the espionage system and say "Dilligaf!"

I love SD, they know what they are doing, even GC2 which most of us know was not complete until very well after official release. Unfortunately i am one that came late enough to see GC2 after years of polish and expansion(only ever saw ToA with mods available). So i expect as much from GC3 and know it will be quite awhile before it is "finished", and the ability to mod it i know they will leave very open, hopefully more expansive this time around. I hope they provide more moddable stuff this time around just for my own tinkering. In GC2 i redid the Thalans ideology techs cuz you always had to pick one based on which you chose and they seemed unbalanced, however slight balance and other things can be left open for modders, the base game is important but just the major hard coded stuff really is what they should be concerned about. getting too drunk now cheers! :D

edit: i would be a founder if i knew of it at the time, epic fail i suppose lol
