Mod to access all techs?

Want to play with all tech trees... help me learn?

Hi, as part of learning what things do and what the differences between different technologies are, I am looking for a cheat or mod to immediately access ALL techs and buildings and upgrades and things like that, from all races.

 

How would I go about doing that?  Is there a mod that does this? Gives a custom 'all inclusive' racial tech tree, including the research options available to everyone?

This can't be done. Use cheats and check out each race individually. Many techs are shared between races so there's only a handful you'll need to study. Keep a sharp eye on which techs unlock Super Projects, Galactic Achievements and Trade Goods.

Surely there's a way to mod a completely new tech tree into the game? I see tech tree mods all the time!

Uhh.... you did mention you wanted to learn what all the techs do. I merely pointed out there is no method to unlock all techs while playing one species.

Try this:

  • Enable cheats
  • Pick a species
  • Hit CTRL-R
  • You now have access to every technology available to the species 
  • Rinse repeat for the next species

 

Many species share technology so the list of differences is isn't big. For example: The Terrans, Drath, Altarians, Torians, Korx and Krynn have more similarities between their techtrees than not. However, they can be connected differently.

Alternatively you can load up the scenario Battle of the Gods.
