Is WindowBlinds 8 Going to Work on Windows 10 ?

Is WindowBlinds 8 going to work on Windows 10?  I'm getting kind of nervous since July 29th is just around the corner, and I haven't seen much info on this compatibility question.

Uniquely suited for Aussie and non-Aussie systems, I see.

I'm just 45% into an install of 10 Pro on my third-rate machine [not even trusted yet on the backup one...let alone 'the beast'].

Once I've ironed out its bugs [in all senses of the word] I'll just maybe try it on the backup....;p

I am eager for this as well.  :)

Really miss windowblinds.  But the dearth of non-master skins is kind of pealing me away from the product.

One of my favorite series of books has been the Windows Inside & Out books by Ed Bott & others.  Originally, he planned to publish the latest version before Win 10 was released in October.  Then Microsoft moved it up to July so he knew he wasn't going to make that deadline.  At this point, the book is scheduled to be released in November.  It an be ordered on Amazon as a pre release title.  My thought is that if Ed Bott is having to take that much time to get his book done, imagine what it's like for a small company like Stardock?  And...there are more changes coming to Win 10 which could delay things even more.  Having said all this, I really do miss WB a lot and I also miss the ability to change the Logon screen using a Stardock product.  There is a program out there that does that and it works well as long as you download it directly from the developer's site (3rd party was bad news) but I would rather pay a bit of money for a program I KNOW is well designed and safe to use.  Adding a new Stardock Windows Logon app to my wish list.  :-)

Hey guys any news on when we could expect WB for Windows 10?

Any official statements from Stardock?

Thx

Windowblinds does not work w/ Microsoft Windows 10. I had to uninstall it after the upgrade to nw win version :( .  Unfortunately it does not end here w/ incompatibility; Deskscape 8 also, does not run well installed on the upgrade. So, this software program was uninstalled just today before posting this msg. As of now, I patiently await upgrades that are compatible w/ win 10. The upside to this is...If running a VM (virtual machine), users could install win 8 on their vm's pc and therefore re-install these pgms to continue using deskscape 8 & windowblinds 8 in the usual way as before. I have vm workstation installed so.... .

I hope the devs @ Stardock Corp./WinCustomize r currently working on a patch or upgrade for existing users of the now-outdated software (free upgrade?).

The only problem I'm having with WB on Win10 is with Firefox and the task bar.  On Firefox, the menu panel is completely transparent, Start10 still looks like the Win10 task bar.  Other than that, it's all working great.

Universal/Modern/Metro/whateverMScallsthemnext apps work? because those seem to have a different kind of window borders.

I can understand how frustrating it must be for Stardock staff to read all this crap. I'm not sure I'd be quite so patient as they are.

Will Windowblinds 8 work on Windows 10? No, Windowblinds 8 is for Windows 8, duh!

Will I get a free update? If you have a OD subscription yes, If you bought a standalone, then that's the version you paid for... ;)

Will my XXX work on XXX - RTFM! Or...

...I'm guessing no-one has actually read this https://forums.wincustomize.com/469524/page/1/

I formally request that the next person to ask an if, when, why question about W10 compatibility have their gonads removed (assuming they had some to start with).

Using Iconpackager on Win 10 is, if you had read the other posts, playing with fire. Sorry if that contradicts what you are saying but should you for any reason have to uninstall it, IP will and has, caused serious damage to the OS. Run that by [email protected] if you don't believe me. The devs will help you out.

I guess I can be added to this list. I tried WB on Windows 8.1 and was disappointing by lack of custom start buttons. Otherwise everything else looked OK. Now using Windows 10 and will keep informed through Stardock email subscription when it will work.

Have been a loyal customer of Stardock for quite few years and need some desktop toys to play with again. Considering putting Win 7 back on here so I can play around with WB and Iconpackager again..........

Just my thoughts. Hope this is developed soon.

I installed Windows 10 but as soon has I realized WindowBlinds don't play nice, I reformatted and went back to 7! Will wait as long as possible for WB to work with 10. :annoyed:  *_* :waaaa:

It'll be well worth the wait. Considering how long its taking (because of the infernal Win10) you can bet there'll be a huge announcement made as soon as the first Beta is available.
