Invasion consumes entire fleet

I know invasion already has its issues, but has anyone encountered the problem when you invade a planet with a fleet, and the remaining warships in the fleet disappear after a successful invasion?

I can circumvent this by separating individual transports from the fleet before invading but recently I forgot, and the entire accompanying fleet seemed to have disappeared afterwards.

Have you checked the just invaded planet to see if your fleet is now stationed there? I seem to recall that is what happened to my fleets a few times when I forgot to separate my transports prior to invasion.

Any unused ships will be in planetary orbit.

If you attack with two transports you will often find one of the transports is still in orbit...at least I have...to my surprise and delight.

Thanks. It turns out that's exactly what happened, and now I have found two fleets I thought I had lost.

Haha same thing happened to me yesterday, I totally freaked out when my fleet of capital ships + transports all "disappeared" whew!
