Latest Update Breaks Starting new Game - Any map size

Is anyone else having issues with the latest update suddenly breaking the ability to create new maps or start a new game on any map size (or any number of races)?

The bad part is that this will load the previous game fine but any attempt to create a new game; whether it's huge with 14 races or tiny with only one opponent doesn't work.  I even went as far as a total uninstall and the game won't load AT ALL when starting a new game.

Is anyone else having similar issues?

I had such problem. My solution for it: go to "//my documents/my games/GalCiv3/" and delete '/design' directory from there. Unfortunately in that directory saved all your custom ship designs, so you should copy it somewhere else and only after delete it. Lately you may return at last part of your ships back in game, but don't be greedy, and take back only designs you really need. Also try not to copy back designs you recieve from multiplayer, I think, that whole trouble is in there.

Well... some update to my advice: I just have such problem once more, and started looking throw 'designs' for mistakes, and found one, that i think will be a solution to the problem- in designs i found files belong to... nothing (picture was completely black), I deleted that files and everithin go to work correctly.

If anyone has this problem I would love to get a hold of the bad copy of your galciv directory or the bad ship design so we can get it fixed for real (we appreciate that renaming the directory solves your issue, but we'd like to fix it so you don't have to do that).

Feel free to PM with the files if you have them and I will have the devs check it out.
