KNOWN ISSUES and USE
1) If you use this mod for your own ships/races/etc. a brief credit to this mod is appreciated.

2) Turn ship-trails off, I use engines as parts in turrets and hulls, it can be distracting.

3) If you experience performance issues, it is most likely the result of the heavy use of animations in any/all of my ship models, or otherwise GC3's general issues. If you experience issues, I recommend either playing with less total races, less races utilizing the ship sets, or otherwise upgrading your PC.

4) Under no circumstances may you upload any of these ship designs or factions to Steam.

THANK YOU
Please reach out and report any glitches/bugs, any ships with clipping or other issues. Also it would be great, if you end up adding to the designs using the custom components, for you to share them with the community! Please credit the mod if you do!

Special thanks to:
Horemvore for his helpful attitude and Diplomacy UI mod!
R3bel02 for one of his logos.
JP193 for submitting a design via the contest.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more!

I've gotta get me some of those!

I have to know how you got the fighters flying around the larger ships as one model - is that easily do-able in the designer or is it a mod?

Hey guys! Thanks for watching, and now hopefully listening!  :)

Quite right! I made a mod that simply added tons of race portraits and again, ship designs. Never did update it for Arnor though. I've even decided to keep the same mod name lol.

It is actually pretty easy in the designer... well somewhat. First, make your fighter, second avoid using the "I won't scale!" parts (a few parts are actually already grouped components and won't scale as part of grouped component), three, group the ship as a component. Now you can copy/paste it into any and all designs. Just a matter of movement animations then.

Thank You!

Good to see this back I was honestly slowly converting your mod for Dark Avatar into GalCiv 3... Anyways I know this is going to be a lot of work since you put a lot of quality in your last mod for GalCiv2. I know your working on 9 races right now, but are you going to be making 25 races as you did for Dark Avatar? I was really a fan of your Galactic Confederacy and its shipstyles. So I was wondering if any of the old races from your mod pack for Dark Avatar will be making a return too. I see the Pirates are.

You have talent dude. I love the Fulgar ships, very unique and not too syfy.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. New races with unique ships. Can't wait.

Sweet! Nice work Gauntlet03.

How do you get the fighters to attach to the bigger vessels. Can they fly off / re - dock? Did you load them in first then built the capital off of it?

Hey there! Thanks for remembering the good ol days! To be honest, its been ages since I've even seen my old designs... after this nine, not a bad idea to check them out for some inspiration lol. As for the plan... I'm just starting with 9 major races. Then I hope to add minor races, and even more portraits, and possibly circle back to the original 9 and add starbases and drones (right now I'm just using my tiny hulls as the drone model as stand ins).

With that done, I'll probably work on batches of 3 major races at a time, until I die.

I make the fighter, then make it into one grouped component, and then add that to a in-progress capital ship. Flying off and docking isn't really possible, you could try to get something that would fly off and up, but it would then reverse right back down to land... which would be too awkward looking to be worth it. There is also no way to pause a animation, so I can't add a 5 second pause between animation cycles.

Thanks all. Your continuing praise feeds me... delicious, delicious praise. I'm wrapping up another set at this moment, and with luck will post tomorrow!

UPDATE! 2nd Ship Set video now available!

Furthermore, I now have a 3-part tutorial on ship designing that you may find useful!

Nice tutorials they made me realise i was using the entire start block instead of just the ship..which is probably why my designs always looked odd/faulty.

Very helpful indeed - what a gent!

One question if I may, related to the Jun Jilar leader potrait -

I see the image you have used has been cropped around the aliens head so you can use a different background - how are you doing that?  With Photoshop or similar?

Any help or advice you can give would be much appreciated - and may even earn you a shiny new Karma point!  Not that I'm attempting to bribe you of course  *_*

GREAT WORK AS USUAL

Dumb question,  do your ship mods have blueprints?  i.e.  will they auto upgrade M1,M2....

They do! The AI will use the ship designs and they will upgrade. I'm using all the default blue prints/ship list though, so don't expect optimized ship designs in terms of components.
