stopping working

deskscapes 8 keeps stopping

hi all, I am new to forums so please bare with me.I have had Desk scapes for a long time now I installed in onto my windows 7 Home edition pc and it failed a few times, after a massive witch hunt it was traced to a service not set to run automatically and the desktop manager not doing its job as a result. once I fixed the auto start problem everything was fixed, I have Blinds and object dock running too. I have recently bought a new pc running windows 8.1 and I bought a new edition of Desk Scapes 8 specifically for my new pc, it works fine until I open any page or folder, once I do that the whole thing stops and does not restart when I return to the desktop. Everything is working fine as far as I know, I am using windows Blinds and Object Dock fine with no issues but deskscapes 8 doesn't want to play ball, All I have after returning to the desktop is a wallpaper, it's like when I open a page or folder I automatically turn deskscapes off??? I use deskscapes among other reasons to avoid having a screen saver and I really want to fix it, can anyone help? to my knowledge no settings have been altered that would cause this my pc has all the necessary spec it is quad core with 8gb ram and brand new, I have not got anything hardly on it yet. I am not a computer expert so please if you can help could I have it in plain English? I don't know what to do this time so I hope I hear from someone soon, thanks guys

hi and thank you for your reply, Thank you also for the helper app, I feel really stupid but the problem was down to me not having Direct-X which I now have. I did check the minimum requirement and my pc meets all but I somehow missed DirectX. I apologize for what must seem like time wasting and again I thank you

Nope...it's not 'time-wasting' as it can often assist others who may strike the same issues.

As they say....there are no 'dumb questions'....only 'dumb answers'...;)

And welcome to the Forums...;)
