Psiyon Wins Faction Contest!

Congratulations to Psiyon, creator of the Orphica Enclave, who has won the community voting round and achieved digital immortality of a sort by having the Enclave included in Galactic Civilizations III as a minor race!

And a thousand bucks. That’s not a bad prize itself.

Thanks to everyone who submitted and voted in our faction contest – this was a ton of fun for the team as we push on toward release. Reading through all the wonderfully creative entries was a blast.

Congratulations again to all our finalists and honorable mentions: dbenndorf, pendrokar, Dumhed, Ronnar, Szkeptik, Earth Force Captain, tjknapoleon, Boli_Delish, InquisitorFelix, and Inbasis. You all rock!

We hope you had as much fun with this as we did. Based on the success of the Faction Design and Ship Design contests, this probably won’t be the last open call we issue to the community with a little cheddar attached.

And thank you Stardock and everyone else who took part or voted. It was a lot of fun coming up with the Judgement of Karn (and my other entry The Unbound) and I also enjoyed reading all the finalists and Honourable Mentions entries.

As it happens my entries were using only the in-game custom faction creator (I'm no modder.)

That said maybe I'll take a look into releasing them once the game launches. Maybe we can get a "Post Your Custom Factions" stickied thread the way we have one for ships>
