[Beta 6.2 Opt-in] Bugs and suggestions

1. Tooltip says "small" when over Immense, Excessive and Insane.

2. The opponent setup screen could use some tooltips, for difficulty and civilization details.

3. Description text for Snuggler Colony is squished.

4. Grid appears outside of influence zone.

5. Can see ships in fog. Submitted support ticket #VVC-427-42650.

6. Starbase screen is empty.

7. Nebulae and black holes disappear when turning off particles, is that intentional?

Can't play until the starbase screen is fixed.

New game after opt-in 6.2.

4. This one still happens occasionally, but it's less noticeable.

5. Still occurs.

8. The unlocks section in the research screen should stretch if there is space.

9. The Prepared trait should have it's description updated, the Preparedness Center now generates one point every ten turns. 

10. Shouldn't the Promethion Pleasure Park generate approval, not income. 

11. CTD when autosaving. Support ticket #KFI-968-79438.

12. A specialization tech obtained via trade does not get the tooltip with it's information in the tech tree screen.

13. Sometimes the background in the diplomacy screen goes black. No idea why this happens.

14. I think the Preparedness Center gives too much Resistance from adjacency.

11. Seems the problem with this one was that my video drivers were old, very odd considering I installed new drivers using Nvidia's software.

17. The Intimidating trait needs it's description updated, the Intimidation Center gives 1 point every 10 turns.

18. The Iconian diplomacy greeting is misaligned.

21. It would be nice if somewhere it was displayed how many ideology points are being generated per turn.

23. Treaty revenue is not displayed in the treaties screen, I should have 20bc from a treaty with the Iconians.

24. Noticed the first the AI builds on a colony is a shipyard.

25. The Iconians seem to have stopped all manufacturing and research.

Yes, Rhonin has always been a sage on the forums...

 

Some of what he's pointed-out though I haven't noticed (grids extending outside of influence, smushed snuggler, shipyard blank).  I wonder if they're not system-dependent?  I did post the "small galaxy" RAM warning a couple of hot-fixes ago as well..

To expand on this -- it would also be really nice to be able to see how many ideology points one already has (and perhaps the tree) when selecting which Ideology Points to take on the colonization event screen that generates them as well..

26. CTD, it happened when I clicked Idle Ship, I managed to reproduce it a second time, but after that the game worked. Had Another CTD when clicking Idle Ship several turns after. Support ticket #TFL-378-75497.

I found a wormhole(!) and it took my survey ship to the other side of the huge galaxy.

When arrived, my survey ship couldn't move because "This destination is outside the fleet's range."

Is this a bug? Usually i can move towards my territory, but not further.

 

 

Did the habitable planets get a boost by the way? I seem to find a lot more now than a few days ago with the same map parameters.

You need to select a destination that is in your range, look near your planets.

Started new game after patch went live.

Some things I still see: 4, 5, 7, 8, 10.

12 is fixed.

27. Krynn have an extra race trait point.

28. I think the Antimatter Power Plant could use a buff and be placed a little higher on the tech tree.

29. The Benevolent trait Prolific shares its name with a species ability. Also I think both should be nerfed, and in the case of the Ideology one it should work with what population the colony ship had, say 50%, not just give a flat bonus.

30. Planet icon not filling the circle.

31. Had the Galactic Event Outbreak, it affected Earth, picked the pragmatic option which should give 50% to research and negative 20% to growth. But when checking no bonus is displayed.

It's not just a display glitch either, I did the calculations.

I am surprised you have that many CTD. I rarely have one. I don't have time to try to duplicate them on mine today, perhaps some others can try. As well as some of the other stuff.

30. After loading a save game the planet icon fills the circle.

32. After modifying the manufacturing slider in the Govern screen of a planet the improvements in the queue don't have the turns to completion numbers updated.

33. The program stopped working after pressing end turn and had to be shut down. Support ticket #MQG-896-17011.

34. A small exploit with the Notifications system, using Go To when an Ascension Crystal is captured by an unknown takes me to were the starbase is located, this allows me to know who got it and a rough idea of where they are.

35. The ship number in a fleet is visible through the mini-map.

36. Suggestion, could mined resources and relics have some of kind highlight around them with the color depending on what faction owns them, that way it will be easier to tell them apart.

37. Suggestion, after destroying a pirate base could we get some kind of reward, credits or something. Right now destroying one is kind of anticlimactic. I as also thinking of putting bounties on them that could be collected by other players, even the ability to put bounties on starbases owned by major factions, when there is that pesky starbase in the way and you don't want to go to war over it..

This has been confusing the hell out of me recently as I made spaces for them with Financial buildings and then gained no bonus, resulting in lesser efficiency with my lay outs!

I've noticed slows downs when entering the Research, Diplomacy and colonization event screens. For two of these I suspect that maybe the movies are behind it. I know my laptop is rather old, but just something to think about.
