Thalan tech problems

The building that you get from the Thalan tech tree called "Hive" is not working properly.  It gives +4 to raw production like the description says, but it gives none of it's level up bonuses (+xx% to manufacturing).  So adjacency bonuses are not helping the building at all.

Also, the Hyperion Matrix tech gives nothing for researching it.  No new structures to build, no civilization wide bonus, nothing.  It is currently just a pointless thing to research as a barrier to the next tech up in the tree.  There are a lot of these "empty" techs in many of the different races tech trees.

Not sure what you mean with Hive, it seems to be working fine for me.

It gives +1 to everything placed next to it. When manufacturing buildings are placed next to it, they give +1 to it, which increases production by 5%

It's fun having a Hive and a Gaia Vortex next to each other, surrounded by manufacturing things. +8 production AND >+100%? Sign me up.

That is the problem, the tooltip says you are getting +whatever% to manufacturing, by you are NOT actually getting it.  Look at your manufacturing output on bottom left of your screen.  When you hover the mouse over it, you will see your raw manufacturing production (which the Hive does effect correctly), and you will the the % bonuses given by factories and power plants etc.  The % manufacturing bonus from the Hive does NOT show up, and does not effect your total manufacturing output.  The tooltip on the Hive says it gives +30% manufacturing for a level 6 Hive, but it isn't actually effecting your planets total manufacturing output at all.  It is a false indicator on the Hive tooltip only.

No, it says it gives +% Production. That's the raw value the colony makes, before it gets split up into Manufacturing, Research and Economy. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to see what bonuses you're getting for Production at the moment. If you have 100% Social Manufacturing (ie, no Research, Economy or Military Manufacturing), and 10 raw manufacturing, the level 6 Hive would make that 13 (that 10 already includes the 4 from the Hive's normal boost)

Ooooooh, ok.  I stand corrected, it does say PRODUCTION, not manufacturing.  Thanks for clearing that up for me :P
