Playing Yor -- does Synthetic Growth bonus do anything?

Hi.  Could someone please help me understand what Synthetic Growth bonuses do.

I'm playing as the Yor and I have researched 'Accelerated Reproduction' which gives a Synthetic Growth bonus of +10%

On one of my planets I also have a Power Matrix which provides an additional Synthetic Growth bonus of +25%

When I hover my mouse over the Population stat for that planet I see:

  • Growth per Turn: 0
  • Accelerated Reproduction +10%
  • Power Matrix +25%

However, the population never changes unless, of course, I manufacture an Assembly Project to create 5 more Yor. The Synthetic Growth bonuses don't seem to change any of this and I certainly do not see any population growth.

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately nothing about this being fixed in the beta 6 patch notes.

Edit:  I just tested it out.  Researched a couple +10% bonuses plus built a fusion matrix which should be +50% by itself.  Assembly still only made 5 population.

I think its suppose to make the assembly finish faster.

Its been reported.  Someone said the bonuses are still tied to the old project Assembly and is hasn't been redirected yet and as Yeller123 pointed out its not mentioned in the Beta 6 patch notes.

I started a new game to check.  It costs 101 on turn one and 101 after research/building in the game I played last night.

I know that at least for beta 5.2, *some* of the Assembly project techs would make the Assembly finish faster. Some may be bugged. It's easy to test though: early in the game, it can take a new planet 20+ turns to finish the Assembly. Later in the game, a new planet with just a couple of manufacturing facilities can finish it in 8 turns or so.

Personally, I'd rather it always stay at +5 population and the techs decrease build time. Adding more than 5 pop could damage approval from 100% to below 50% in one turn.

or bring back assembly project :) I know I'm heavily outnumbered in preferring it though.

I wasn't a fan of the original assembly project but it worked.  If they aren't going to fix the current version, I say put the working version in.

Paul had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about the Yor/Synthetic problem, though I should have specified growth rate problem.  So the devs might not be aware that synthetic growth rate is not being properly applied.

It might help the devs see this if the thread was in the support forum.  Can anyone move it?

The synthetic trait is hard to code, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just working at the last patch before release.

Bless you SD for making it though. :")

The original poster can move the thread by editing the original post, selecting "Category" in the header, and then choosing "GC3 Support" from the drop down list.

Just as an FYI, since kestlstw created a new thread.
