Something very strange just happened in game...

So, i was in the middle of a Huge multi-star game against 2 AI-controlled opponents, A Hard Vasari, and a Hard TEC.

I was Advent.

I had just captured an Ice world, about 3-4 Phase lanes out from my worlds, meaning its Allegiance was quite low.

However, just after i had captured it, the Vasari Faction (whose backyard this world was in), where suddenly defeated.

Still, my allegiance dropped, despite my culture now racing around the star system.

i was given a warning that they would soon overthrow my world. no real biggy there.

NOW, here's the part i considered weird.

Just as, or IMMEDIATELY after the world fell, i was told that an enemy were attacking.

figuring it was more TEC Rebels, as usual, i scrolled over, to see one, Level 1 Radiance Class Battleship in the colours of Rebels, attacking my Radiance and Progenitor! I thought this was a bit crazy, but i decided to just toast it and take back the world, mid way through the fight, however, a full advent fleet of Rebels, as though they were being generated by the TEC ability, suddenly jumped to the gravity well from nowhere!

Still stranger, they attacked the TEC when they showed up!!!

is this normal? or a glitch??

its not mentioned anywhere i can find, nor is it mentioned on the wiki!!

i got screenshots if any one wants to see the fleet. :)

EDIT; the Radiance is even named the TDM METERUM!

This is normal, not a glitch. Your hard TEC opponents have unlocked their tech to incite rebellion in other empires. Until you take them out, you will be plagued by rebels attacking your worlds!!! And yes, they will attack the very empire that incited them!!!

One of the random events added by the Stellar Phenomenon DLC, "Open Rebellion: gives planets with low allegiance a chance to overthrow your rule. If this happens you'll immediately lose the planet, and several ships, including capitalships, with spawn to try and seize the planet.

The wiki has never really been that up to date, especially for Rebellion. But here is a list of random events made by one of the developers.

This is an amusing side effect of using the same "Rebel" player used by the TEC player's research that spawns hostile ships at enemy planets. This player is defined as being TEC, so even though the random event can spawn Advent and Vasari ships (if Advent and Vasari worlds suffer the effects of an Open Rebellion), they still use the TEC random name list because the game thinks all Rebels are TEC.

This is incorrect. The TEC research will only spawn TEC ships, and will not spawn capitalships. Open Rebellion is the only way for Advent and Vasari ships to spawn as Rebels.
