ModernMix and SlingPlayer

I am running Slingplayer Modern UI App on my Windows 8.1 PC. The two seem incompatible. When I have ModernMix loaded and I try to load SlingPlayer, it will start but will simply disappear. It works fine when ModernMix is not loaded. Any ideas?

What happens if you set it to run fullscreen? It may be the app doesn't like being in a window because it is smaller than expected.
