Hows the game?

?

Its been a while since I logged on and stuffs changed. I'm not a founder and testing isn't my thing, I like to play games with a expansion/dlc or two. :)

So can anyone tell me where production is at and what good and bad right now as honestly as possible.

(can someone update the databanks, it a beta and this should be up and running by now.)

Its still in early beta (or late alpha, depending on the definition you use) but overall its looking very good. Some features are still out and will be introduced over time and the official release is hopefully spring of 2015.

Jesus christ Ryat, I can't play the game at least tell me some bugs or things that are coming soon and not tongue and cheek details.

I want to know about new colonization stuff and combat if you can? And as many funny stories or developer plans as possible.

If you want to know what's coming, then take a look at the tentative schedule. The dev streams also contains lots of informations regarding the current status of the game, future plans, and all things Snathi.

If you've got a few hours and just want to know how the game plays right now, then take a look at Paul Boyer's (Lead Designer of GalCiv 3) Let's Play.

Well, you could also take a look through the forum. The first page alone contains several threads about bugs and general feedback.

My second sentence supplies the answers to this question.

That and Gaunathor provides the funny stories.

Its a got alot of bugs and stuff? You can imagine.

Diplomacy is supposed to be super advanced and great. And every part of the 4X is different and all around better this time.

DARCA. ;)

I am still playing my 2nd Beta game. I am 400+ turns and slogging it out with Godlike Terrans on one side and Drengin on another.

Yes the game is resembling 'fun'.

BORING!

The tech tree in its natural makes it impossible to determine what improvements you are working towards.

In 'tech tree' mode, it is impossible to tell which tech you are working towards as the names shift or overwrite each other.

Just spent eighteen hours playing this (the third time I've tried the game since Beta started) and you basically sit around clicking the "Turn" button waiting for something to happen.

Haven't quite figure out the purpose of "Benevolence", "Prag", and "Ruthless" as they really don't seem to have any effect on game play or production numbers. Also, they only seem to be affected when you colonize a planet. So far, just a waste of programming.

I'll stick to version II chapters.

Hmmm... Sure... People have said ideology rewards are too generic right now. And combat will break the silence bring alot of fun, diplomacy will also make "things" happen soon. ;)

there's no reason to think it won't change though.

If you have not figured out what the idealogies are you are not playing the game. Clearly Benevolence is Overpowered and you would know that if you played it. Since your approval goes down as you lose money or population gets too high benevolence bypasses this for a long while.

Why you gotta be all like dat bra!  It is totally not boring if you like 4x games.  Yes, many features and aspects of the game are still missing, so OF COURSE it will not be as good as II with expansions and stuff.  I don't know what you are talking about the tech tree names overwriting each other... sounds like a good bug to report (as that is the whole purpose of beta testing).  Eighteen hours is nothing.  (see:  https://forums.galciv3.com/457892/ )

And, if you are just clicking "Turn", you need to micromanage much more.   ;P

What kind of candy? A lollipop, Robin Williams' 2012 single or eye candy? :|

Its far from feature complete currently lacking diplomacy and detailed combat. The ship designer is the best part at the moment, whats in the game is good but its still a long way from complete. I've played a few games but an now waiting the next beta.

I'm now waiting for combat and diplomacy before going back to the game. Its fun, just missing too much to properly enjoy at the moment.
