more planetary invasion options

While I am enjoying the beta, one aspect of the game that could be improved is planetary invasions. Are there plans for planetary bombbardmwnt or other options other than just landing millions of people to fight it out on the planets surface?

Yes, they are in the tech tree but currently disabled.

In GC II we started with regular invasion. Then down the tree we got 'bombardment' which gave a GREAT advantage at the cost of Permanently LOWERING (by a lot)  the planet quality. AFter that we got Tidal waves and then Core detonation. Tidal waves, removed all improvements and gave an advantage and Core detonation left some improvements with a slight drop in planet quality. All of these you had to choose if you wanted to do them at the time of invasion.  Finally we had SPACE MARINES and the TIR QUAN TRAINING CENTER (my favorite of all special buildings), this gave you a full on 20 or 30% (GOBAL) advantage if you built the center on a planet.

Regular invasions without help were much harder. I expect when we get them implemented they will be as well. Also I know we are going to get an 'improved' invasion viewer but I dont know  what they have in mind.

Hello All,

The first thing they need to do is FIX planetary invasions, which has got to be the most broken part of the game becasue you can't finish the game if there are planets you can't invade.

5 out of the last 8 games I have played I have found one or more planets that would not let me invade. I have no problem with losing an invasion, but to send fully loaded ships to invade and they just sit there when you try to move them on to the planet hex? I am certain there are a lot of less vocal people than I who are questioning why a game came out of alpha that is so broken some players cant finish most games because of the bugs.

Never mind the broken shipyard sponsorship, the ideologies you purchase which give you nothing (like the 5 transports in the Drengin tree...), and numerous other issues which you expect from a beta. Those are understandable in a beta, but there always has to be a way to win the game when released as a beta, or it came out of alpha too soon. IF the planet invasion part can't be fixed, can we PLEASE have another means to win???

It is very frustrating to have all the resources and strategic advantage needed to win only to have to start a new game over a very regularly occuring bug...

Regards,
