Some beta feedback

* When I got to about 5000 cr and started buying transports their price wasn't deducted. I did about 10 ships that way and stopped. Later it was workin OK but later:) again I got free ship upgrades.

* When you have lots of planets sponsoring a shipyard the tooltip info gets flicker (different planet names are overlapping).

* Planet interface without arrows showing adjacent bonuses feels less intuitive

* Territory bonuses worked better for me when they were available directly on the terrain tooltip. Now I need to click and read upper right description.

* Influence toolttip often (always?) shows MISSING INFO label.

* Sometimes I cant create fleets from stacked ships

* Upgrading one ship in a fleet is painful. Got to go into details.

* Creating tiny ships with default scale (100) tiny components makes them so big they don't fit in the design preview screen.

* Stacked enemy ships create real mess in the hex (3 constructors+2colony+battle fleet all visible at once)

* IMO "idle constructor at starbase" alert is needed. At some point I've has several starbases and bunch of constructors to upgrade them. But while doing some fights I forgot about them and needed to skim through the bases to check where they are available.

* It looks like upgrading a starbase always looks the same. It would be neat if the shape would depend of the upgrade built. Or maybe starbase module designer?:)

* Is tourism on in the beta? I see bonuses on lands/techs but can't see any directly connected buildings

* I can't understand the population effect of the buildings. Some of them are said to raise cap but I can't see the cap anywhere.

Performance improved - still sometimes when switching between colony/shipyard/starmap I get choppiness but full zoom out fixes it.

"Sometimes I cant create fleets from stacked ships" <<<<

This is a function of Logistics. In GC II we had a value for each tier of Logistics we unlocked. I think its the same here. However, we are missing the information that tells us the values for fleets and ship sizes and the values we know or have unlocked. For example a Medium ship is 4 Logistic points, I have the 2nd tier in Logistics unlocked and I can 'fleet up' 2 medium ships but not 3, A Transport is 3 points. I know I can fleet up a Medium ship and a Transport or two transports but not two transports and a medium.

Now after I researched the 3rd tier, I can now fleet up 3 medium or two transports and a medium. This follows much like GC II but the actually values for determining what I can put in a fleet are not currently shown, or if they are I cannot find them.

Gunathor you find the ship and logistics research values anywhere?

I've had base 9 points and tried to merge 2 and 3 ships (3 pointers). There are values in info box.

I guess it's rather "I'm out of MP and I'm on autopilot" kind of things.

If you have a stack of ships, and click on it, the game shows you a small number on top of the ships/fleets in the interface in the lower-left corner. That number is the logistics cost of the ships and fleets in the stack. It's also the only place in the game were you can currently see those numbers. At least, I haven't found them anywhere else, along with your current logistics value. That one isn't shown at all. The only way to find out your Logistics value, at the moment, is to add ships to a fleet until it is no longer possible.

When you clicked on a stack of ships in GalCiv 2, you could see a line of text in the bottom interface, declaring how much of your Logistics value the currently selected ships uses, like "Logistics: 5 Of 6". I'd really like that back.

You can look up the logistics cost for ships in the game-files by opening the ShipHullStatsDef.xml. The current values are:

Tiny 2

Small 3

Medium 5

Large 7

Huge 10

Cargo 6

So, almost exactly like in GalCiv 2. Only the one for Cargo hulls increased (it was 5 back then).

Edit: I must be blind. When you select a fleet, it clearly shows the currently used and the max logistics value (e.g., Logistics 15/16). However, it still would be nice to see that value when you create the fleet.

I think flymar knows about the logistics point.  He's reporting that he can't stack them even when he's got enough points to stack the ships.

I haven't had this issue (yet?) but I also experienced free ship upgrades.  I got my battle fleets upgraded without any cost, and in the same turn also bought a planet structure (solar plant maybe?), and the cost was deducted normally.  So strange.  Not sure how to report this kind of bug so devs can recreate the issue/exploit.

Sooo... Logistics cost are higher than before, but less total points are given when there's supposed to be all this processing power and modern stuff? Why is the total logistics limit lower than galciv2? Or did I count it wrong, I thing its 32 now vs 50 something before. We need Moar logistics than before not less.

Logistics cost are higher than before

Only for cargo hulls. The rest are identical to the ones GalCiv 2.

I had a fleet with a logistics cost of 42 (!) at one point while playing the Drengin. However, I'm not sure, if that is the maximum. For one, all the ships in the fleet used the cargo hull (troop transports for my neighbours), and I couldn't add any more of them (didn't try other ship sizes). The other thing is, I hadn't build the Hyperion Logistics System, which would have reduced the logistics cost of the ships (at least the ones build from the same world). Also, if I read the ImprovementDefs.xml right, the HLS would further increase the logistics value for each level it got. It says 0.05 in the file, so would that mean 5 per level? I have to test that out.

As for GalCiv 2, the base logistics value depended on race, going from 5 to 10 (the Drengin had a 7). You could get 45 from techs (46 for the Terrans), and another 6 from the HLS. So that would mean 56 to 61.

I've just tested it, and the HLS apparently does only provide 0.05 logistics per level. At least, it only showed 0.1 for the first two levels, and went to 0.2 once it hit level 3. That's a bit low, if you ask me. :S

Also, the reduction of the logistics cost doesn't seem to work at all. I couldn't add any more ships to a fleet than before.

I thought all ships were built off planet does the HLS even work anymore?

Not as far as I can tell.
