Why are the devs abandoning Sins when it is making more money than ever before?

Patch support cut after two years? Even with tons of issues left to be resolved? Unhelpful/nonexistent Stardock "Support"? Yet sales are through the roof and will exceed thst of 2013 (according to stardock CEO). I know I won't be preordering sin 2 like I did with rebellion. Other companies do much better than this, for example look at company of heroes. 5 years of patch support. No technical problems. Balance issues ironed out. Solid comp community. I'm not even going to mention starcraft or warcraft because that would be cheating.

Because Sins has been a hell of a lot of fun to play and chances are Sins 2 will deliver more of the same with an updated engine?

If you like minidumps every 30 minutes, than sins is the game for you.

Considering I play pretty much only SP, minidumps aren't an issue I have, at least until I start playing very long mod games that have been running for several hours, at which point I blame the engine for being old.  Try again.

Stardock and Ironclad remind me of the good ol' days of Blizzard.  We will see another patch from Ironclad, just not now.

I will buy Sins 2 because I see Ironclad and Stardock as companies that make and publish games for gamers.  I will support because if I don't, then who is left to make creative, good, fun games?  EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard are all run by shareholders.

Newsflash, sins comes with a multiplayer aspect. When you include such a thing, you expect it to work. It doesn't at the moment (and likely never will). And another newsflash: minidumps aren't limited to multiplayer folks. Try again.

Lol dude the CEO of stardock (or Yarlen) came out and said there will be no patches for Rebellion.

Multiplayer is secondary, so I personally do not care as much about its stability, and I admitted minidumps happen to me in SP, which you conveniently decided to ignore since I said they happened several hours in instead of every 30 minutes.

TL;DR version of all of Spardas posts:

I got my bread rations, who cares if the MP people  don't even get a few crumbs?

I play mostly local multiplayer and that is pretty stable. I agree that the whole minidump and desync issues should be fixed, but that doesn't mean that the next game won't be better.

Also, like Sparda I don't care if people want to boycott Sins 2. I will make my own damn decisions if/when I buy a sequel.

You set expectations based on the company's track record. Starclad doesn't have a good track record.

Original Sins- desyncs and minidumps not fixed

Entrenchment- still not fixed

Diplomacy- still not fixed

Rebellion- I give up

Cool. I expect we won't see you around the forums then?

Multiplayer was added in last minute and used what the devs used to test the game because everyone is doing it. Unfortunately, as we have seen, the only way to fix it seems to be the same way we need to do to fix the 32-bit nature of Sins. Spend millions of dollars on a game that came out in 2008 or rebuild from scratch.

Most of us fans prefer a complete rebuild.

Because we all know what a captivatingly hypnotic single player campaign came first! Which was always the real focus, right?
