Windowed apps drag system to nearly a stand-still

Fullscreen is fine

Hello, all,

When a Metro app is running in windowed mode, the system becomes so sluggish that mouse movement looks like a slideshow.

Any ideas?

Windows 8.1 here.

What graphics card do you have?

Also what mouse?

You would need to contact sales as obviously things like that cannot be done via the forums.

I would also recommend contacting tech support as they may be able to find your issue as that is clearly not normal for ModernMix on Windows 8.1.  Windowed modern apps should work just as well as fullscreen ones.

My gut feeling is you have your mouse set to a very high sampling rate which is causing an excess of messages being sent to the apps and in Windowed mode this is overloading things.

If that's the case, then it (sampling rate) doesn't affect anything else.

MM shouldn't cripple the system, should it?

Update:

It turns out that the conflict is between ModernMix and Bins, even after a clean install of 8.1.

When Bins is running, putting the focus on a Metro app in windowed mode makes the mouse so unresponsive as to be almost dangerous (accidental click-and-drags, etc.).

Any ideas? (Other than uninstalling either of the programs.)

Unfortunately I imagine there is something about bins which is triggering unexpected behaviour in metro apps with ModernMix.  I imagine it would be a choice right now of one or another.
