Man you have had to much time off from work. I think the extra hours are playing tricks with your brain. ( yes i'm using the word brain very loose) Rating trolling. Not for you as they don;'t have a minus number. 

I just started my time off, day 1 of 5, so happy. I worked 32 hours of overtime last pay period. So tiring.

And yes, they have minus numbers, just for me!

My suggestions as a regular user/member: Please try to find out why some of us can download and post in the forums but cannot properly rate and/or comment on files. The bigger the pool of potential raters and commenters, the less power a troll would have. Consider not allowing people to rate installable skins (windowblinds, etc) unless they have actually installed them. For example, if I wish to rate a dream maybe I should have to do so from within deskscapes. That wouldn't help with some categories like wallpapers, but it might prevent someone from downrating every dream and blind someone has ever made very quickly. Do allow people to comment on files they have neither downloaded nor installed, because there are cases in which a member might really love a particular skin but perhaps the skin isn't available in the resolution or OS version they need. "Looks fantastic but I can't use it because..." is a valid comment, even if the commenter cannot test the file. Downrating a file you cannot use, however, should not be allowed unless the author claimed it works in a configuration it doesn't work in; authors cannot be expected to be able to create and test in all configurations. That is another reason why I suggest that installable files must be installed before a user can rate.

That's simply a cause of browser addons such as 'do not track'.  Simply disable or allow for the site...or use an alternate browser without such addons and you'll be fine...;)

I don't agree with you ID. I've rated skins a 1 when it was obvious that the skin author had a 5 star rating becase they'd gotten their friends to upvote it.

And that's also part of the problem.

This crap is all over the place anymore. 

There are skins from well known and popular artists ( as uploaded themes and previews in the forums ) where there is nothing but praises, attaboy/girl, wow!!!, etc, etc comments and ratings that.... well, lets just say that back in the day when people actually paid attention to detail and put out unique and high quality themes that would not have cut the mustard.

So much anymore, if you even try to give suggestions and helpful opinions, you are beat down and chastised by the author and others for not being 100% supportive. Seems to be a trend in life in general. No one wants to have any accountability and thinks they are entitled by the amount of friends (online friends only at that ) that they have. It is completely disgusting and not just confined to WC.

So.. get accustomed to it people. The age of the wussy is upon us !

It is not very long as I am among you, at the beginning I thought WC gave an assessment of our creation!
Shortly after I got demender, on what basis we judge our work after you have downloaded all skin 5 Stars!
No need to tell you the disappointment that I had to find that the star does spineless to say anything!
Over time I have come to accept that nothing is perfect and you have to live with!
If I stay here the reason is simple, WC is the best.

This corrupt ratings system and the personal issues that come into play when approving and rating skins, for those who have ruffled feathers is gotten way old. My just submitted skins deserved better than a three star rating. If they had been made by your favorite friends, ratings would have been better.This is unfair and I have had enough beat down by wc mods, or skin approver's , or whatever you call them, to last a life time, this is really unfair and I am through contributing to this site as I see no change in how the controllers of the site let things re-occur.

Brian, you can rest assured that there is nothing personal in the way the mods initially approve/disapprove skins.

Friends rating high on friends skins is going to happen at any site that has a rating system. The opposite as well, but it appears that WC is trying to deal with that.

The only way to really govern that (IMHO) would be to remove the "user" end of the rating system and only have mods rate. To stop ratings altogether would likely end in a flooding of sub par quality work being uploaded, and thusly ending the long standing quality standards here at WC. That would not do.

You really should hang here with your friends. We would hate to see you go elsewhere.

I think that our skin is generaly well noted, we juste have to accepte that sometime certain skin are to high noted and others  to low noted .

There IS NO 'beat down' by any skin Moderator on Wincustomize as none is so petty or could bother to do so.  But yes, nothing has changed in your 2+ years just as nothing has changed since 2001.  The ratings AND skin comments have always been monitored for potential abuses and people have always been taken to task and/or simply removed.

This process is not going to change simply because Wincustomize proactively protects people's submissions and does not simply leave them to the wolves as is so often the case with 'pure' art sites such as Devart.

No-one here will force anyone to stay if they believe themselves 'wronged', but any wrong-doing is NOT coming from Wincustomize staff/volunteers, of that you can be assured.

Has succeeded, is succeeding and will succeed.

The Gallery Mods are as objective as possible. Jafo and I.D. watch that, and Mod as well.

I don't believe that any skin gets a higher rating than 3 stars. Any skin I upload gets automatically 3 stars and it's up to users to rate it up or down. The only exception would be masterskins which if memory serves get an auto 5 stars.

or how some of us see these as 3 stars being 6 and 5 stars being 10, since the star ratings have half star increments. I can see how I was confused by the DT comments if he's saying 3 stars. I had to look at his gallery and only saw one low rating for a wall way back when, which got me more confused.

Myself, I have no issue starting out with 6 (3) stars. If they go up, great and if they go down, bummer.

Although when I re-uploaded some deleted blinds they came back in with 5 (2 1/2) stars instead of the usual 6 (3) that they originally came in with. Must have lost a 1/2 star for the mods having to look at them twice, who knows.

I've had a close look at your skins and my honest opinion as a skinner is that 3 stars is being generous.

as one or two star rated skins don't seem to exist, three stars means crap and four means mediocre.
