I hate to say this but the fix for "where taskbar items were being left behind for some users" doesn't fix the issue all the time.  However, I did find a bit of a hack that seems to work 100% of the time.

First you have to go to the Taskbar and Navigation Properties window by right-clicking on the taskbar and choosing Properties.  Once there uncheck "Show Windows Store Apps on the taskbar".  Second open up RegEdit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\ModernMix\mmix.ini\ModernMix and then create a new String value called "ModernMixDoTask" with a value of "1" (without the quote).

Once you have done that, reboot your computer and the issue with ghost Windows Store app icons will be 100% fixed and there appears to be no side-effects either.

I imagine they are identical other than the name.

Hello,

I'm suffering an issue with this version, in Windows 8.1 Update 1, when the ModernMix option "Hide Windows 8.1 Update 1 full-screen title-bar" is unchecked, the title-bar isn't show anyway, so no possibility to move the Modern UI window to any side of the screen (left or right), if in traditional window mode, when yo click Shift + right button over the task-bar icon, then a contextual menu appears with menu items to set this positions, but can't exit the window from this position in anyway.

Does exist any solution for that?

Closing windowed Modern apps results in the process bar icon still showing the app as running. Any fixes for this problem?

Still seeing this issue.  Whatever fix they put into place in 1.15 doesn't work all the time.

I'm beginning to think that this is a bug in Windows itself and not a bug in ModernMIX.  Why I think that is that when I manually kill off a ModernUI app via the Window Task Manager, the icon stays behind.  It's like the taskbar isn't being updated properly.
