IE shortcut on dock launches 2 or more IE windows.

I never experienced this before but since I decided to hide my taskbar with the show/hide taskbar docklet I have noticed that when I click on the IE icon on the dock it always opens one working instance of IE and another blank page of IE. The blank page stays minimized and I only know it has launched by hovering my cursor over the IE dock icon. I am using IE 11 on Windows 8.1. I do not need reply's about how bad IE and 8.1 are or try another browser. I do use other browsers such as Palemoon but there are times when I prefer IE.

Any ideas or has anyone else experienced this?

JuniorCrooks I have a zoomer dock set up just the same way you explain.  I'm using IE10 and Windows 7 and it works fine.  It should do so with your set up also.  Off hand the only thing I can suggest you do is right click the icon, then click settings and then click edit the shortcut and make sure the link is okay.  If the link is okay then you might want to check the IE settings and see if there is something there that is causing the problem.   :sun:

Link is ok. I tried different things from running with no add-ons, doing a an IE reset and using an IE repair tool. Nothing fixed the problem. I read that there are other people experiencing this and it happened after an IE 11 update. I might try uninstalling the last update to see if it helps.
