What Movie Did You Last See?

What Movie Did You Last See?

What's the last movie you saw?  Doesn't matter if it was at home or at a theater.

Last one I saw was Captain Philips.  I thought it a pretty good movie, especially since it was based on real events.

Hope it's not a 'blacksploitation' of Edward Woodward's TV series.....the graphics of the title imply such...;)

Earlier this evening we revisited 'The Getaway' and 'Bullit' with Steve McQueen

Open Grave with Sharlto Copley. Not very good, unfortunately.

Took out a cd from library: "Grumpier old men."  And oldy - but hilarious.

Guardians of the Galaxy with my wife. We really liked it.

Fury - Not a character study with action sequences as advertised, but an all out post modern warrior epic.

St. Vincent - Bill Murry will get an Oscar nomination for this.

I remember him as Callan ....long before the quasi-reprise in the Equalizer.

He died 5 years ago, aged 79.

Saw Nightcrawler last night.  Having grown up in L.A., I identified with the cultural phenomenon of media feeding frenzy that local news has become.

Jake plays an internet educated sociopath to the hilt.  Brilliant.

Not a new one, but John Carter on free-t0-air TV last night.

Was okay but reminded me of Avatar in ways, with some similarities in storyline, aliens and creatures.

"Lucy".  Saw it last night and quite enjoyed it.  It's a bit Sci-Fi-ish and has great special effects, but most of all I enjoyed Scarlett Johanssen's performance as Lucy... she was convincing and believable throughout.

I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, and I recommend you do, but I would have had it end a little differently had it been up to me.  Having said that, though, it wasn't like alot of movies that end without a proper/decent conclusion.  Lucy's ending offers a believable and proper conclusion that doesn't leave you thinking: "WTF?".

Interstellar! And it was very good. At last i liked Nolan´s movie - cause Batmans and Inception were shit IMHO.

Watched an old flick on netflix (my first time): "We are the night.'  I'm a fan of quality vampyre movies.  "Let the right one in" up till now has been my recent 'best' pick as it explored some interesting issues while presenting an unconventional twist.  'We are the night' takes number one spot now.  It is a 'b' movie and the German to English dubbing doesn't always match the actors lips - but the music, and the story line really sucked me in.  :)  Themes it explores really haunted me. Rarity does a movie continue to draw me in.  BTW, its hard R - don't let your children watch it with you.

"Leon the Professional" ... Excellent movie!

A Walk among the tombstones with Liam Neeson. Was fairly decent IMO, to certain extent similar to Taken,  but way darker, slower and not as action-packed.

Just watched Pacific Rim. I gotta say, I really enjoyed it.

We saw the new "Penguins" movie today! It was good!!

Same here, watched the Penguins of Madagascar movie two days ago and was rolling in the aisles with laughter throughout the duration of the film. Especially loved Skipper's character, who 'has the heart of an action hero and the swagger to match'!

Next on the list- The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Hope it's good.
