I'm going to assume you are talking about Icon Packager. If you can't do it from win8 control panel I would install the program again. You will see on top that says Icons & Cursors, click on that. Than click on Restore Default Icon. Will give you the option to restore Windows icons.

You can also just click on Look & Feel. At the bottom will be the icon packages included. Scroll to the left it will say Windos default icons. Apply those.

Is this the same issue that has been present in IP for YEARS?

If so, even if you re-install, restore defaults then uninstall it might do the same thing again.

Most likely will. Especially if you set any live folders.

First, re-install Icon Packager.

Open IP Config and select Windows Default Icons and apply.

Click on the Settings Tab at the top of Config.

At the bottom left are three buttons. Click on all three a few times, tap your heels together 3 times and say "I want my Icons, I want my icons, I want my icons"

Log off and back on, or restart explorer.

Check to see if the icons are all back. If not, repeat the reapplying Default and all the button clicking and such, but you can skip the heel tapping.

Once you are entirely certain all is ok, uninstall IP.

If you have some blank looking icons left over, don't panic, there's a fix for that too.

Let us know how it goes.

Keep trying. From experience, it will take several attempts to get them all back. You might try a restart also after each try.

Yeah, I know, total PITA.   :annoyed:
