Suggestions for 2014 WC Community Project

The last community skin we did was the Holiday Community Suite back in 2009.  I wouldn't mind doing another winter holiday suite, but that's for later in the year.

So lets start getting ideas for the next community suite.  Do we go for a season like Spring or Summer?  Another holiday?  A different type of theme?

Lets hear it and discuss it and get moving on the next one.

Well if/when Spence says if "Biosphere" or other theme is chosen, and if it´s okay if I do the Blind I´ll get to it :sun:

-Also would be nice to hear who other skinners are interested & what skins etc.

I am ok with you doing the blind, Andy, but I would ask that you tame it down a tad from your normal work so that the GFX are a little more user friendly, so to speak.

While your work is way outside the box, which is very cool, they are a bit hard to follow, if you know what I mean. I hope you do know what I'm trying to say, because I mean it in a good way.

 

The only reason I don't do more matching skins for your work is that you're so far outside the box, your gfx are hard to work with.  ;)

i would love to, but i had a nervous breakdown last year and my doctor as told me not to do anything to stressful and skinning is very stressful lol a may help a (bit) if needed but there's loads of new people on here that have the talent to do this . . i do like the idea of some of the best skinners coming together to produce something great... if i did get involved i would have to get windowblinds and skinstudio on my new laptop as my old laptop died about 3 months ago and iv not bothered to put them on my new laptop as iv only been doing my photography so i only need potoshop and lightroor for that..

If the theme goes hi-tech then a mismatch is a good thing. Not all components need be identical in color, shape and whatnot. Simple could be the new complex. Using one of the Mars Rovers as an example. Opportunity is still going after ten years on Mars. It wasn't initially designed for that length of time but there it is still kickin'. Just sayin'.

I'm sorry, but by definition, a suite needs to be matching. A mismatched suite, IMO, would be a mess.

We as customizers usually match skins. Have a look at the Desktop Screenshot threads.

The person to manage this project should be someone who has some skinning background as it will be needed to coordinate with the other skinners.
