Evacuate The Dancefloor
Album: Evacuate The Dancefloor
Year: 2009
Natalie Horler exhausts herself dancing at the club in the beguiling “Evacute The Dancefloor.”
Swanky synths open the single, setting an eye-popping tone, She squeals and exclaims she loves the song. She’s been waiting to hear it all night. She grabs her girlfriends and takes them with her to the floor. She’s moving her hips and arms to the music, forgetting she’s out and not at home. People have formed a circle around her, nodding as she dances. (“Turn up the music/Let's get out on the floor/I like to move it/Come and give me some more/Watch me gettin' physical/And out of control/There's people watchin' me/I never miss a beat.”)
In the pre-chorus, sweat is dripping all her over and she has hard time catching her breath. She meant to stop a few dozen songs ago. However, the DJ’s continous loop of beats kept her going. (“Still the night/Kill the lights/Feel it under your skin/Time is right/Keep it tight/Cause it's pulling you in/Wrap it up/Can't stop cause it feels like an overdose (feels like an overdose.”)
In the chorus, she alerts her friends that there’s an emergency. The beat has seeped into her veins and through her bloodstream. However, it’s the DJ’s beats is the last thing she wants to hear. (“Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor/Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound/Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me/Hey, Mr. DJ let the music take me underground/Everybody in the club/Evacuate the dancefloor/Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound/Everybody in the club/Stop, this beat is killing me/Hey, Mr. DJ let’s burn the place down to the ground.”)
She clutches her calf. A sharp pain is coursing through her entire leg. The people blur together in her eyes. She tells her friends she has to go outside to get some fresh air. She sits in the corner and throws up. She groans and wipes her mouth. She shouldn’t have drank too much. (“My body's aching/System overload/Temperatures rising/I'm about to explode/Watch me I'm intoxicated taking the show/It's got me hypnotized/Everybody step aside.”)
The pre-chorus and chorus are sung again.
In the bridge, Yanou has noticed the club has started to fill up. Right now, people are standing and drinking. He thinks they are self-conscious and don’t want to humilate themselves in front of a person they want to impress. Next, Yanou declares people are going to enjoy the their new song. He wants to see everyone dance to it. (“Come on and evacuate/Feel the club is heating up/Move on and accelerate/Push it to the top/Come on and evacuate/Feel the club is heating up/Move on and accelerate/You don't have to be afraid/Now guess who's back with a brand new track/That got everybody in the club going mad/So everybody in the back/Get your back up on the wall and just shake that thang/Go crazy, yo lady, yo baby/Let me see you wreck that thang/And drop it down low, low/Let me see you take it to the dancefloor, yo.”)
A second chorus is sung to end the single. (“Everybody in the club/Evacuate the dancefloor/Everybody in the club/I'm infected by the sound/Everybody in the club/Stop, this beat is killing me/Hey Dr. DJ let the music take me underground/Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor/Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound/Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me/Hey, Mr. DJ let the music take me underground/Everybody in the club/Evacuate the dancefloor/Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound/Everybody in the club/Stop, this beat is killing me/Hey, Mr. DJ let's burn this place down to the ground.”)
Horler’s voguish vocals peacock, showing off some leg. She’s cool, unaffected by the number of heads that turn when they see her. However, she’s down-to-earth, simply there to have fun. But it does not make her any less intimidating.
The alluring “Evacuate The Dancefloor” takes immediate control of the room with the first note. Electro suits them well.
