Chrome not working properly with Modern Mix

I have my taskbar set to automatically hide when it's not in use, but while in chrome the taskbar won't show up and if i minimize the window and try to get to my taskbar it shows up behind chrome. So my chrome window block out any of the task bar it's in front of.

Additionally: there is a large black bar above the browser space before modernmix's bar, and it's a lot of wasted space and i was wondering if there is a way to fix that?

I use chrome partially for how sleek it is and this is accomplishing none of those things, HELP!
