Vicory conditions?

I'm pretty new to Sins.

I'm playing the original game without the two expansion packs.

Playing single player.

In my first few games I got the victory screen when my opponents were all eliminated / almost eliminated, which is fine.

Later I won a couple of larger games when everyone other than my ally was eliminated / almost eliminated, which is also fine.

So now I am playing a very large map, and everyone is eliminated (there was a race eliminated message and the diplomacy screens show cracked glass over the portrait) except 3 races which I am full allies with (all treaties, 100% opinion). But the game hasn't finished...

So, what do I have to do to win now? Do I have to attack one or more of my allies? Does it make a difference that my allies are not all allied with each other?

If teams are not locked, then you have to have allied victory enabled...otherwise, only one can be left standing...

Enable it in the victory conditions option window at game start...

Thanks Seleuceia.

I've been all through the menu system at the load of a saved game, with a game in progress, and starting a new game and I can't find any victory condition options.

Available options are for lock / unlock teams, max fleet size, pirates active, and the speeds of research / production etc

Were the victory conditions options perhaps something that got added in one of the two expansion packs?

I am playing just the original game in single player mode.

Is there perhaps some rule in the core game about maximum number of allies for a victory?

I believe victory conditions were in an expansion, so you may require locked teams to win with allies.

Yeah I forgot this is vanilla sins....if you want to win as a team, I believe the only way you can do that is to start the game with teams and have locked teams on....
