I think it'd be neat if there were a meet & greet sort of event for a major milestone such as the first Alpha release. I myself only live a few hours outside of the Detroit area.
Too much trouble, cost, time and misunderstand is too high for me.
We are all over the world and most of us do not have the time or resources to go somewhere out of our zones..
Except for a few individuals meeting each other the options are down to:
Profiles comparison - big whoop
Skype meeting - :/
Even then what are we gong to talk about other then we all want the Alpha now and how/why each thing should be improved.
Sure. Gal Civ enthusiasts. Hmmm. People who play a game where they conquer and pillage a galaxy full of beings, launch massive landwars that take billions of lives, make friends with other alien races then backstab them in a mad rush to colonize or take over their planets. Or who play homocidal species of aliens that feed slaves into furnaces. Hmmm. Yeah, I'd really like to hang out with that bunch!!!! ; )
