Proper installation order for GalCiv2 CE & add-ons?

Yes, I know, First install Galactic Civilizations II Dread Lords, then the add-ons. But What about the Collectors Edition exclusive content? I installed it after all the add-ons and now everytime I start TotA, a message tells me I have to update Dread Lords first. When I click on 'ok' the game starts normal.

So, what is the correct order? At what point do I install the CE exclusive content?

I don't use Impulse anymore, I just download the latest versions from the Stardock site (since they don't offer just the patches).

Also, what about uninstalling? Last time I did that, it removed the install.log file and I couldn't uninstall the rest. Though I might have uninstalled the base game first that time.
