Remaining or Returning to Metro UI after closing Metro App in Modern Mix Window

https://forums.stardock.com/442241/page/1/

Asks the question about going back to Metro when closing a modern mix window.

I have start8 and Modern Mix on Win8.1 and have changed the settings in both to supposedly go to the Metro UI when closing a fullscreen window.

It does not work at all no matter what even with the settings in start 8 advanced and the Modern Mix settings.

The confusing part of the concept is that when you open a Metro app, it opens it in a Modern Mix window on the Desktop, i.e. a traditional windows window.

So if you close that window, I suppose you would not normally expect to be back in the main Metro UI screen.  But this is what I would like to do, if it is feasible, and I don't understand why this does not work.

I have Modern Mix set to return to the Windows 8 menu ( a terrible way of saying return to Metro, it ain't a "Menu", it is a screen of tiles) "only when closing fullscreen applications launched from the Windows 8 menu).   I have Start8 unchecked in Desktop -> Advanced  "Switch to Desktop after closing a

Modern UI  application".   THIS DOES NOT WORK. Using latest Start8 1.30  and Modern Mix 1.12

SO THE OTHER THING I MIGHT LIKE TO DO IF NONE OF THIS WORKS IS SEE IF THERE IS A WAY TO TEMPORARILY DISABLE MODERN MIX WITHOUT UNINSTALLING IT.....

Thanks.

I've run into this problem as well; with the same set of programs and OS. If I launch an app from the Metro UI it always goes back to desktop when I quit. It does get pretty annoying considering there are options to not have it work this way. Which for some reason aren't working.

I have the problem, but I don't have Start8; just ModernMix. I have it set to return to the Start Screen when closing a full screen app, yet it always returns to the desktop.

I noticed for me that if you close the modern app via the app's jumplist it won't clone another taskbar icon.
