Galactic Civilizations III Founder's Repository Now Open

https://www.galciv3.com/founders

We've added a cool new feature to our Founder's program: a behind-the-scenes look at some of the pieces of Galactic Civilizations III as they're being built.

We're planning on adding new content to the Repository on a regular basis, but for now all Founders can listen in on some of the music our talented composer has already finished for the game.

In the future, we're looking at dropping the following types of things into the Repository:

 • Music
 • Concept art, including early/rejected stuff that we normally wouldn't share
 • Design thoughts from the cutting room floor
 • ...and anything else that comes to Brad's mind

Check out the Founder's Repository here

Awesome!

This stuff will all be archived there if we become founders at a later date, right?

In other words, a day one Galciv 3 founder and the final day available Galciv 3 founder will get the same content.

I'm only asking because some other founder's programs had staggered rewards depending on when a user became a founder.

We don't have any plans currently to remove content from the Repository.

Maybe some kind alpha or in-house tools for creating (mod) content when the alpha is available? I don't care personally, but just a thought. Who knows, maybe those even work better if the modders get a chance to give feedback before it is too late.

Sweet! :D

I hope to see some more stuff out here soon though, those 4 files look kinda lonely in there..... all by themselves...... locked behind a door :P

Well, I (hope) that, those kind of things will be included inside of the alpha game files.

Works for me this morning, love the expanded title theme, nice update to the GC2 theme, sounds a lot bigger.

Nice work

I am surprised the songs are exactly the same as GalCiv 2. I assume the game will feature some original music?

I don't know about this limiting people's access to interesting information about something they love. Why does it matter when you became a founder or even if you are a founder? We are a community. I would vote to throw it open to everyone.

I'm very fortunate to be working right now and to be someone who can participate financially in the development projects I love; like Gal Civ III and projects on Kickstarter. I participate because they are worthwhile undertakings and seek to produce creative artifacts that should exist in our world. I would hate to think others are prevented from sharing in these joys just because they don't have the money right now.

Mr. Gorbachev tear down these pay walls!

It's a good idea to have a "founders" area. It's not about making others more "special" than the rest but about providing a return for early faith. They could make the same stuff available at a later date.

I threw a good bit o' money at Star Citizen and they have/had early adopter benefits. That didn't stop those people from bringing over bits and pieces into other threads to be oohed and aahed at. The stuff was also made available to everyone after a bit o' time.

I'd have already purchased the founders except I and a few others lost our damned jobs a day after this site went up. I hate Florida and I hate the timing!

But I hate Florida more.

Have I mentioned I hate Florida?

I have bought the Founder's elite Edition (I checked, it's waiting in the my downloads section) and get this message: "Sorry, it appears that you do not have access to the Founder's Repository. To obtain access you need have purchased the the Founder's Edition of Galactic Civilizations III."

Anyone know what the deal is here?

There was one guy who had to wait something like 2 days before his forum badge showed up. I'd posit that once your badge shows up, you'll be able to log on as a founder.

To maybe speed things up a bit, you could try sending the OP of this thread (abiessener) a PM asking him to look into it. He's a Stardock dude and likely has his finger on the pulse of things.

Think materials. In GalCiv II, you could change color but you couldn't change material (graphics technology wasn't there yet). Different substances interact with light in different ways.

Heh, of course, in GalCiv II, we didn't even have self-shadowing!
