Sexy and I Know It
Album: Sorry For the Party Rocking
Year: 2011
Redfoo and SkyBlu are the center of attention with their pretty boy good looks in the droll “Sexy and I Know It.”
Twilight synths open the single, setting a luminous tone. Redfoo pauses at the deli, trying to decide between Jalapeno cheese and Swiss. From the corner of his eye, he notices a girl checking him out. He smiles to himself. The animal print accentuates his toned arms. Sigh. All he needs is an agent and he can star in a Bruce Lee movie. He’ll even have his own signature move that will have his feet become tiny swords. (“When I walk on by, girls be looking like damn he fly/I pimp to the beat, walking on the street with in my new La Freak, yeah/This is how I roll, animal print, pants outta control,/It's RedFoo with the big ass fro/And like Bruce Leroy I got the glow.”)
In the pre-chorus, he finishes up his order and flexes his arm on the counter He gives a nod. He’s at the gym everyday. It takes several hours of work to get a body as awesome as he has. (“Girl look at that body/ Girl look at that body/Girl look at that body/I work out Girl look at that body/ Girl look at that body/Girl look at that body/I work out.”)
In the chorus, he catches the eyes of both men and women, regardless of where he goes. He’s gotten used to the attention. He only dresses in tight clothing. He figures people look, might as well as give them a show. (“When I walk in the spot, this is what I see/Everybody stops and they staring at me/I got passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it/I'm sexy and I know it/ I'm sexy and I know it.”)
At the mall, he gets hounded by people, thinking he’s a celebrity. Security guards eye him. But he gives them a smile and they are as entranced as everyone else. Tanning at the beach causes a stir. While out the bar, he wears as little as possible. The girls he’s with fret about not getting inside. He puts his arms around them and reassures them that his abs will be their admission. (“When I'm at the mall, security just can't fight them all/When I'm at the beach, I'm in a Speedo trying to tan my cheeks/This is how I roll, come on ladies it's time to go/We hit it to the bar, baby don't be nervous/No shoes, no shirt, and I still get serviced (watch.)”
The pre-chorus and chorus are sung again.
In the bridge, Redfoo and Skyblu wiggle their butts which are in fine shape. All signs of cellulite have been taken care of. The beauty of such fine cheeks should be admired by the masses. (“I'm sexy and I know it/Check it out check it out/Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah/Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah yeah/ Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah/Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah yeah/Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah/Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah yeah/ Do the wiggle man/I do the wiggle man yeah/I'm sexy and I know it.”)
The pre-chorus is sung again.
LMFAO say “I’m sexy and I know it” one more time to end the single.
I'm sexy and I know it
LMFAO’s conversational rap is casual with some chutzpah. Being hot is an everyday thing. It has its perks and might as well be enjoyed. Pretty is an occupation and all standards must be adhered to. The utter ridiculousness diminishes any arrogance. Although dedicated gym rats/aspiring models may not appreciate the humor.
The amusing “Sexy and I Know It” yearns to be on a CW show, being shirtless and handsome.
