Battle of the Gods Mod (Allow Other Races?)
Is there a Battle of the Gods Mod that allows you to play other races besides terran?

If you have the ultimate edition use the the game editors like the senario editor that it comes with the game other wise your going into the game data in your hard drive. Local disk C, program files,(might have numbers next to the word like x86 but click on wherever u saved the game), stardock games, and what version of the game is saved will be displayed (dark avatar, dreadlords but twilight isn't compatible with any senarios),data, English, senarios, battle of the gods. Remember to make a copy before editing the file. And the original move it to your desktop and then right click on it select open with. And select notepad.
you will see alot of stuff but on the seventh line it will say PlayerRace=0 change it any number between 0-9 that will change your race I know 1 is the drengin 2altarians 8 is the thalan. Other numbers higher than 9 will be races not present in the senario and might crash the game to your desktop (after testing 10 is cust
race. and crashs the game) 11 is dread lords I don't know what that dose just make alot of back ups if it crashes.
when your done put the file back and play as the race you want.
sorry about the face above something went wrong but don't use 10 custom race doesn't work.
First off, the OP is a double-post, and the question has already been answered here.
It's the other way around. The pre-made scenarios haven't been updated to be compatible with TotA. They do work, but have some bugs.
Only in DL. In DA and TotA, custom race is 12, and DL is 23.
Yea I used dl as the model. Figured the dude can't play battle of the gods in twilight because I sure can't with the ultimate edition.(CTD). But your right as always, I should have known you or frogboy or kyro don't let posts go unanswered.
That's strange. I'm also using the UE (replaced my original version) and the scenario works fine. Well, except that you don't start out with all the techs, because it hasn't been updated for TotA, and that there is a good chance of loosing the Starport on Earth, because of the terraforming (same for the other races).
Maybe the scenario-file is corrupted somehow. Can you open the file in the scenario-editor?
I'm hardly always right. There have been enough cases where I was dead-wrong. Also, please don't put me on the same level as the guys from Stardock. I'm just a member of the community, like you.
I can't play any senario in twilight I've used the editors, got rid of all techs, all races accept Terran and drengin to play with still doesn't work, and made copy's of them and changed the internal names and just made new stripped down ones all CTD. And I have a new laptop.
so what does the logo under your screen name mean? I know you get to test parts of galciv3 (
)?
sorry if I offended you, with my complements. DARCA1213
Have you tried to reinstall the game (or verified the cache, if you use the Steam-version)?
It means that I'm a member of the Founder's Program for GalCiv 3, and, in my case, will be able to test the Alpha-version, once it gets released.
Don't worry, you didn't offend me.
I have the ultimate edition on disk, from Amazons stardock seller I've installed it on two computers, same problem. (I wouldn't dream of downloading anything with anyone after it took thirty two hours to download mass effect 3 extended cut with 4g speed. I'm sticking to wired connections now.)
WOW will it be player editable?
and I hope huge ships aren't equal to a bunch of small ships. I know its a long endless argument over balance but there comes a time like in civ4 were alot of warriors don't beat tanks ( yes combat is totally different but you get what am saying) I just think large and huge should be just that and not nerfed so heavily so that there just big tiny ship with more hps. to size and price ratio maybe the hull prices can be lowered some. (miniaturization isn't quite the same ).
2.02
with my luck you're going to tell me. "they fixed senarios at 2.03 sorry"
that's why I use luck in the game to make up for it in life. (half lol)
I don't remember what v2.03 fixed (and I can't seem to find a proper changelog at the moment, only the release-notice), but scenarios were already working long before it got released. The campaigns are nothing but scenarios connected via an overall thread. I've been successfully playing the TotA campaign since release, and the previous ones (again) after they became available to play under TotA.
Anyhow, you will need to update. If you registered your serial key with Stardock, you should be able to download a fully updated installer directly from them. It's only 1.88GB big, so it shouldn't take 32 hours, even with a 4G connection. Just go to their Store page, log into your Stardock-account, and go to the My Downloads page.
Notice that I said "should". Stardock went Steam-only with all of their games about a year ago (except for GalCiv 1, which is also available on GOG.com). If you buy a game directly from them now, you will only get a Steam-key. I don't know, if this affects retail-keys in any way.
That sounds... awfully familiar.
Mass effect was 1.9 giga bytes so maybe it will be just 30 hours. I wish there were fiber optics cables in Baltimore. Thanks again see you on the galciv3 forums.
