Hello.  ... don't know if possible, to Stardock techs > Will Deskscapes be coded to work with Decor8 when Decor8 is set to run desktop wallpaper.  In other words, if Deskscapes is running animated wallpapers on the desktop, will it be compatible with Decor8 set to view desktop wallpapers on the start screen?  Will Decor8 be able to run Deskscapes animated wallpapers? Perhaps this could be made possible later on ok ok.  thanks.  Just a thought.

When I did testing, dreams/videos were automatically working fine as the start screen background if you have the "Show my desktop background on Start" checked under the Navigation tab under Taskbar and Navigation properties in Windows.

You said "testing"... How many times did you use deskscapes on the start screen successfully?  More than 1 day?  A week?  A month?  How many times booting and having no problems with deskscapes on the start screen?  I successfully had the dream videos on the start screen just a few times until they froze.  I tried all options. Even setting the "(Show my desktop background on Start) checked under the Navigation tab under Taskbar and Navigation properties in Windows" caused deskscapes to freeze on the desktop eventually.  Unless you can demo that it works, it currently does not.  So far, I have seen NO other demos of video on the start screen across all of the internet, this forum and the Stardock website other than my own video.  Can you post a video on the start screen of your own?  Just asking.

I look forward to a stable version.  It will happen perhaps at some point.  I can wait.  Thanks.

The release version of Deskscapes 8 (8.1 I think) for Windows 8.1 should in fact allow this when you set it via the OS setting, but not when set via Decor8 (as Decor8 does things differently)

So, I was excited by the new info, and I went thru the effort to set up Windows final release 8.1 and just to be up to date, downloaded the "release version" of Deskscapes 8.  Sorry, my experience is, Deskscapes still does not work on the start screen.  In fact, it froze on the desktop and start screen after setting in the navigation pane to show the desktop on the start screen and then going there. (to the start screen) (And just to not create a conflict, I did not install Decor8)  I think when Stardock will advertise this as a new and stable feature and put videos on the start screen on their website as a sales point, then perhaps ... well ...

Not there yet!  Best of Luck.

Is there a release version NOW of Deskscapes 8.1 ... ? not beta

The standard release version is still version 8...?   And the beta 8.09, in my experience, does not work also.

There is no listing (as far as I know 10/18/2013) of Deskscapes beyond beta 8.09.

Tested 8.09 on Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1. So far no problems.
