Can't get serial number to work

I bought Galactic civ 2 off steam last night. I keep entering the cd key/ serial number and it does not work

DO NOT post your serial numbers or Steam keys in the forums.

You would need to contact Steam support and I they should be able to assist.

The serial number you had posted is a bit short. It should contain 6 sets of 5 characters. When you right click on the game within Steam and choose 'View CD key', by default the Steam window cuts off the last set of characters. You can use the 'Copy key to clipboard' button to get the whole thing or you can just re-size the window that contains the serial.
