ai after player leaves is waay too powerful

Seems like when the devs say they buffed ai, they weren't kidding.

So i was playing a 5v5 game the other day in the eco position. One of our guys MD/DC early and left. 1 Hour later, the ai proceeds to steamroll the other frontliner by building a massive fleet of heavy cruisers and other ships. The other guy was no chump either, he had ~150 games. I check the  stats after we won the game and it turns out, even though I had a massive income of above 430, and had like 19 planets, he had MORE my planetary income! Remember he only had 5 planets (three of them asteroids). This made the ai have DOUBLE the income of everybody else

This isn't a one time thing either, as other games i've played with ai have resulted in them getting massive boosts to income and eventually winning through attrition.

Solution- nerf ai in multiplayer (preferably medium difficulty)

Screenshots in case you dont believe me:

(The ai is green)

AI difficulty I believe has been confirmed to be unfair...AI replacements being too powerful has been a long time (Rebellion) issue if that AI lasts till the late game or inherits an eco player's position...

I wouldn't put the AI on normal difficulty, as those AIs are just completely incapable of anything...hard would be much more reasonable...

If i recall correctly, it had powerful income bonuses, yes... But never to this extent. The screenshots prove this is absurd.

It also seems to perform significantly better when a player drops mid game as well.

Unfair AI's may have gotten bigger boosts going from Trinity to Rebellion or in a Rebellion update, I honestly do not remember...in any case, it doesn't matter when the change occurred...the AI replacements are beasts late game...

I was in a 4v6 with Doci, Fallen, and Seth on my team...we basically crushed the other 5 players and yet were struggling to deal with the AI who also happened to have some very powerful artifacts...Doci, Fallen, and I lost our titans to the AI's fleet(s) multiple times even though we coordinated our attacks...

are you sure a dropped player is insane- my understanding is the hard ai is used which has a 2.25 income cheat.

According to my check unfair's get a 4.0x income bonus on all 3 fronts.

They don't normally....this AI started as an unfair AI (aggressor if I remember correctly)...after wiping my opposing frontliner I decided to eco since, well, the only faction next to me was the AI and even Seth (who was tripled) seemed to be doing just fine...

Fallen wiped out 2 players' HWs, then did some ecoing....I think Doci wiped one and then went hard core eco...then we just started screwing around because we didn't think we actually had to kill the AI (which would have been true if it was a replacement AI) and were just waiting for fallen to mop up some last few planets...well, the last human quit and that's when we realized we did have to attack the AI (which none of us bothered to do)....

We were all kind of in a trollish mood....fallen and doci were mostly just trying to out eco each other...I decided to see how many unsupported illuminators it took to wipe a fully upgraded TEC SB (answer btw is about 250 if you don't support them and the SB has 20+ armor)...at some point everyone had a titan and we figured we'd have no problem ganging up on the poor AI...

We were wrong...2 of my allies (doci and fallen?) attacked a large AI fleet together with their titans...both titans died....I attacked a smaller AI fleet with my titan and 2 caps, lost the titan and a cap...

We then noticed that every AI unit had over 20+ armor (our titans had like 19), presumably from an artifact...all the AI planets had SBs and many of them had shit tons of mines...the AI had superweapons and just endless units everywhere...I ended up MDing so I don't know how (or if) the game ended nor did I get to check end game stats...

Anyway I brought this up to show that the unfair AI is actually a beast in the right conditions...I brought that up because I'm pretty sure replacement AI's are unfair, but I could be wrong....
