What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

When I put my first above ground pool in around the late 90's we were able to open it in April and start swimming in May.

Now my pool is just opened and still not warm enough to swim in :(

I'd like some global warming back...

But they're not actually being broken because they've downgraded past temperatures, discounted others entirely, and adjusted the current readings higher to correct for the cooling factor from urban heat island effect.

There is many a now urban temperature station with a 5 degree shift in the data, to account for those pesky cooling factors, like air conditioner vents, and blacktop.
End of psychoak's quote

It's like when certain ingredients are combined to make a soft and chewy, toffee-like substance... the figures have been 'fudged' ;P

Sure the computer models forecast a future of 'global warming' doom and gloom, but we all know that computers can only arrive at conclusions based on the data fed into them, and if that data is flawed, inconclusive or plain just tampered with, then the results are going to be less than accurate.  Thing is, the 'global warming' scientists and researchers fed in the data they were told and the desired results... er, intended results were delivered.

It is said that computers don't lie, and maybe that's true, but their users/handlers sure as hell can.... and do... just sayin'.

I'm actually a little surprised they even published this.  Certainly did so to no fanfare.

Global warming is a myth.  Everyone knows that all the energy / heat we have added to the troposphere has zero affect.   Correlation does not equal cause.  Whatever happens - whats important is that job creators are as free as possible to create jobs.  China is the most recent example of the success of business oriented job creators.  The rest of the world needs to emulate the Chinese model.  Oh, and american cigarette job creators never placed addictive additives in any cigarettes.

Of course not.... like why would they wanna make it more difficult to give up and keep people smoking?

I eventually quit around 8 years ago, but I had several failed attempts due to the addictive nature of cigarettes.  It is one of the most difficult challenges, to beat nicotine addiction, and I do believe the tobacco companies do place additives in their products to make it more difficult , but it is possible with the right mindset and commitment.

Anyway, that doesn't have a lot to do with the global warming myth/fallacy.... except that tobacco production may in fact contribute to and/or create toxic clouds that don't allow planetary heat to escape into space,  Okay, so let's ban it!

The addition of the comment about cigarette companies was intended to make it 'perfectly clear' that the previous portion of my comment about the public global warming discussions/arguments/mis-directions/distractions was sarcastic. Energy (as far as we know, so far) is neither created nor destroyed - merely transferred.  So, as the smart apes continue to transform massive amounts of energy from locked / static states (coal/oil/nuclear fission / fusion bomb tests into active mechanical energy, heat energy is added to the troposphere.

Oh, BTW about beating nicotine (plus the 'additives') addiction - its actually more difficult to beat cigarette addiction than ACOH addiction.  Hats off to you for beating the cancer nails. :)

I guess I will put in 2 cents, so the u.n. already admitted its political not scientific. I haven't seen a hotter year than 1994. They changed official temps on the internet. I noticed they describe it becoming noticeable after we came out of a Minny iceage in 1850. The planet mars, Jupiter, and Saturn have been experiencing global warming. According to the united the over all global temp hasn't rissen in 17 years. With the u.n. their are official, and then there are honest releases. But according to me the temp might not be increasing because of a volcano. This doesn't sound man made. There were a predicted ten degree rise by 1994.

98 should be the hottest year most of us have seen.  Some of the 50's may have been close, but the 30's have the 90's beat bad so anyone really old can harken back to when they fried eggs on the hood of the car in a manner other than as a joke.

Still not quite sure what ACOH is supposed to be for, alcohol?  That would be CH2CH3OH. :)

Or EtOH.

It's a collective singular...;)

Nope, "data are" is actually correct.

Since in this case, the data refers to various sets of temperature records, from different sources, most of them hilariously altered at this point, I'd go with are.  Just RSS, UAH, or GISS, etc, would be more appropriately is.

The biggest reason to cling to global warming is carbon is very profitable.

Nah, it's not something I think I wanna debate, so I'm gonna pith off.

Frankly, I'd rather be a spectator at a supermarket catfight.

Or a mid-Winter tricycle race up Mt Everest. :-"

As in lots of lies and broken promises.... not to mention the lurks, perks and huge salaries for doing pretty near eff all.

Every government lie is a plural... cos yer knows there'll be another, and another.... and another.... ad infinitum.

The one thing about government that isn't plural is truth.  In fact, there probably isn't a singular.

If 'Government is plural' then it would be Government are plural, which it isn't so they are not...;)

You may need to read that several times for effect...;)

He was referring to the word itself, not the thing(s) the word refers to.  It's just one word, therefore singular!
