Riddick Movie (2013)

What do you guys think about the upcoming Riddick movie? I enjoyed Pitch Black very much and thought Chronicles was ok, I would say that Riddick looks a lot more like Pitch Black in terms of grittiness, style and plot. I also have to say that although Vin Diesel is never going to win an Oscar I actually think this is undoubtably his best character and he plays him very well.

Pitch Black was great, and Chronicles could have been great if they had cut away some of the cheesy tropes and focused more on Riddick.

I think the setup for this new movie is as perfect as it can get. This is personally where I want to see Riddick - fighting mercenaries in an ever increasingly hostile universe.

Wow, didn't even know this was a thing.  Looking forward to it, I love the Riddick stuff.

There's been a few great movies shot in Oz [ignoring the Matrix] .... Dark City....Pitch Black .... those two are some of my favourites...;)

Pitch black was pretty good, so was the second one. Unfortunately I saw the second one first then Pitch Black. Go figure.

In motor racing terms that's 'WD'...;)

Dark City was (is) one of the most intriguing movies I have seen. Pitch black was entertaining, chronicles was lame. Hope this new one gets back to the success formula of pitch black.

Pitch Black was the equivelant of a lame horror movie with the shallow plot of 'get off the planet'.

Chronicles of Riddlick had some very unique and intriging aspects to it...prophecy, empires, destiny....you're kinda tossed into the fringes of a functional society.

From what this trailer has shown....it's back to 'get off the planet' ...

Actually they're more the equivAlEnt of Alien and Aliens...the first is 'spooky' and the second is action...;)

Dark City was a great movie IMHO.

Riddick movies are bit weird, i am still undecided, whether i actually like them or not. I guess i consider Pitch Black decent and Chronicles average, although there is one aspect of the that movie i really like, the whole Underverse thing. It kinda reminds me of Sins and Advent  :)  and i feel like the movie could be so much better, if this was more developed/explored. Instead it was bit of a background fluff for an average action movie.

I'm a fan of all the Riddick movies, I'm excited there's a new one coming out.  :D Vin Diesel that's my boy. <3

This is good news to me. I can't really take Vin Diesel seriously in any other role, he's always been Riddick to me and I like it that way.
I like the Riddick universe and have enjoyed all the content that's been made out of it, meaning both movies, both games and the animated short movie.

Pitch Black, in my opinion, was a great movie overall. I, as an Advent Player, also liked Chronicles with the whole holy crusade and convert or kill the entire galaxy. It's all very similar to Advent ideology.
Also as an artist I can't help but appreciate pretty much every last aspect of the Riddick universe.

Liked both films as well as that animated thing so I'm kinda looking forward to this one.

Riddick just wants to be left alone! That's always the story but merks and prophecies just make people want to hunt him down. <sigh> They never learn
