Well how does it work, you kill a group of creatures and everyone gets an equal share. Each share is than modified individually by percentage modifiers? How does it work with multiple champs and a sovereign?

You kill stuff and solve quests, you get xp. You get more xp for monsters that you kill than units of other factions. You get more xp for stronger monsters and bigger groups. You get less xp the highter the level you are. You split xp between heroes that are in one army stack.
Combat XP is split between heroes but not other units. Quest XP is not split.
XP per battle depends on the level & strength of the units involved. Stronger untis attacking weaker ones don't get as much XP.
Even without the split LH gives roughly 20% less XP per battle than FE did. However the last tweak of the beta was to increase the number of "end game" monsters and quests so that you could still level up even with the reduction.
Thank you Vanderbilt, do you happen to know if gear and size(of the single unit) are also accounted for with regular units?
