Are you going to add in touch support?

 

Believe it or not I enjoy using this on my Surface Pro but have noticed that the critical swipe-down gesture is not working.  This makes navigation impossible in the majority of modern apps without a mouse.  This is a really odd conversation.

 

Also, it would be nice to be able to switch between desktop and modern mode using touch and the top right corner icons.

Swipe from the top of the screen, not the top of the app.

Let me be a little more clear.

 

When I've opened a modern app in a window, swiping from top of screen or window does not work.

If it's suppose to, which devices have you tested this on?

 

I have a Surface Pro and a desktop hooked up to the Acer 23".  No response swiping from top of the screen.

I checked here on a desktop with an attached touch screen.

We have a Surface Pro, so let me get someone to double check on that and I will update the thread.

Having tested it on a Surface Pro, a swipe from the top of the screen does indeed trigger the swipe action on the foreground modern U application.

Which version do you have?

 

I have a Surface Pro in front of me and when in desktop mode with the modern app in a window (not maximized) there is no response to swipe down - except occasionally it grabs the chrome and drags the window around.

 

I have version .95.

The test was done with 0.95.

Do you have anything else running that might interfere with it?

Well it works now!

 

Not sure if there was something interfering as you mentioned.  The only change I made was installing the latest update from patch Tuesday.

 

Sorry for the confusion.  Looks like it was a problem on my end.  Weird that it happened on two separate devices.

I would like to request that the switch icon in the far upper right corner be "touch friendly".

 

I know it's weird but I like to use the modern apps often in the desktop in tablet mode (no keyboard/mouse).

 

I can't seem to get the app to switch back and forth between desktop and modern mode.  Maybe just make it larger?

We have added an option for larger graphics in the next update to see if we can make that easier.

No sooner than I had written you and the swipe down stopped working in desktop mode.  I have a fellow developer sitting next to me watching.

 

I closed a couple modern apps from the desktop - Store and App Stars - flipped back and forth between the start screen and it started working again.

 

Sorry I couldn't reproduce it better.  Just something to look out for maybe.
