It is somewhat similar to Wesnoth, but  i like it more, at least judging from a demo. Never played fire emblems :(

I did not like in Wesnoth seeking for a kill, that is, choosing always who lands the killing blow, and thus not worrying about winning, but more about leveling your units. Once they you got bunch of high level units the rest was easy.

Also this game has unit zone, you cannot just bypass a unit, you have to stop.Finally catapults - very, very cool.
