The events in this mod occur 10 years after the story of Freelancer.

Not all of the Nomads were pulled through the Hyper Gate by Edison's
work, in fact those events led to another group being awakened and
consequently getting another shot at taking out the colonies. However
this group is larger and more experienced than the previous ones awoken
by Rheinland, and they're not happy about being separated from their brethren.

About 5 Years ago: all the trade lane and jump-gate
technology 'inexplicably' failed, however thanks to some breakthroughs
by Ageria Technologies, Cruise drive speed has been increased to fill
the gap left by the failure of the trade-lanes. They also developed a
system to allow a cruise drive to be 'super charged' in close proximity
to a star, allowing for long distance jumps between systems. While not
as fast as jump-gates it helped to keep the colonies in contact.

4 Years ago: the relative peace shared between the colonies since the
nomad infestation started to breakdown. The Kusari Empire annexed GMG and raised the
export taxes to Bretonian space, raising the cost of vital H-fuel.
Bretonia responded in kind cutting back on the raw resources they were
exporting to assist in Kusari rebuilding. Once Liberty de-regulated
Ageira Technologies' new cruise drive upgrades and shared the designs throughout
the colonies Rheinland was no longer held back, and started flexing
their muscle again. Focusing on moving their newly rebuilt fleet to gain
a foothold in contested space.

3 Years ago: the first Corsair
capital ships were seen. A large Bretonian military convoy carrying
supplies and materials were ambushed by a Corsair fleet led by a cruiser
of unknown design. The cruiser destroyed the escort gunboats with ease
and raided the transport ships. Corsair raids become more frequent and
daring requiring the houses to devote more resources into their military
and police.

2 Years ago: Secretive 'Nomad Cults' have been on the rise,
these Fanatics believe that the Nomads were the messengers of 'God' and
that Edison is the Devil Incarnate who tried to stop mankind hearing their message.
While they were thought to be a few harmless kooks at first,
they have recently become quite aggressive and militant;
and their insanity is quickly spreading.

Current day: relations between factions has
deteriorated even more. With increased military focus due to piracy and
border disputes and the political situation quickly turning sour,
all-out war could break out at any moment.

A new download seemed to fix the Ui issue. The Liberator ships are also behaving properly now, had to switch off boarding parties ability which defaults to autocast enabled, after I did that everything was ok. 

The gravity wells distances don't seem as bad as before now. Like I said something must have messed up on the download. I'll also use the tactical grid like you suggest, the typical Sins displayed gravity wells don't look very Freelancer anyway.

 

Ok, glad it was just a corrupted download and not another problem to sniff out!

 

Liberators boarding parties can be used to capture enemy structures just FYI =P

I'd have no idea what to do with minidump data to be honest.

Did you have random events enabled? as there is a known cause that needs fixing.

Here is some in game shots of the Bretonian 'Armstrong' Destroyer:

 

 

 

The Armstrong is a robust design that has served Bretonia for many generations.
It's powerful heavy particle cannons give it impressive firepower to take down larger ships and it's secondary Capital Heavy Missiles can also deal heavy damage. It's main weakness is against fighter craft for which it is unable to engage. (BAF Commanders should be vigilant to ensure stubborn Armstrong Captains don't chase down fighters which they can never hope to hit)

The particle conversion shields on the Armstrong can be switched into what BAF crews call a 'sparking field' mode.
The conversion shield is altered to input extra power into the particle cannon capacitors vastly increasing their fire-rate and potential damage. This creates an unusual visual appearance of sparks and flashes of shimmering light around the Armstrong.
However it should be noted that this ability will considerably weaken the shields ability to protect and can leave the Armstrong vulnerable to counter attack.

 

 

 

Bretonian ships (especially their capitals) favor high survivability and heavy, forward weapons batteries.
Their Hull and Shields are probably second best amongst the colonies, though their maneuverability is a little lower than equivalent Liberty ships.

Also because of their preference of heavy forward guns, they are vulnerable to flanking maneuvers.
Another weakness is the Bretonian persistence in ornate designs for their ships which increases their production costs significantly.

Hey me agian just was thinking are you planning on making it some what custom on the weps you use like u can have diffrent types of weps on ships i dont know how you could get it in but i just think it would be nice doesnt go with the lore thought so idk if you will like the idea

I can't make it customisable in game, however some ships have variants with different load outs. The Liberty Defender for example; the MKI version is armed with a single autocannon and four long range missiles making it mostly a long range - first strike fighter, while the MKII refit swaps out two of the missile launchers for two plasma guns, and replaces the autocannon with two laser cannons giving it a more all-rounder type load out.

Then you also have Ace versions of most fighters.

Bretonian stuff:

Clydesdale Freighter

 

 

The Clydesdale is the Bretonian standard trade ship. Some combat refits will be implemented at a later date.

 

Arc Royal Frigate

 

 

 

 

The Arc Royal is an Audacious class Carrier Hull modified to operate as Bretonia's Marine transport/colony ship.
It carries a full compliment of Bretonian Marines and transport vessels to drop them planetside. While it is fairly tough, it is only lightly armed and should be escorted.

 

 

Corsairs:

 

Legionnaire Light Fighter

 

 

 

 

The Legionnaire is the Corsairs Light Fighter. They use it for scouting, raiding and direct combat. It's built for speed, durability and firepower. Armed with two twin barrel Neutron guns gives them impressive (if short ranged) combat ability.
Protect your freighers and VHF's, these LF's will kill them fast.

Corsairs are both going to be the 'pirates' plus fully playable at a later date.

They will be hard to play as though, they won't be able to colonise planets till mid to late game for one thing. Though they will have lots of abilities geared towards stealing credits and resources from your enemies.

Other pirate factions that will show up are; Liberty Rogues, The Mollys, Blood Dragons and one of the pirate groups from Rheinland space.

Mod isn't dead, just slow progress for a while. Being a stay at home Dad has it's perks a long with it's downsides =P

I am getting close to finishing the next update... but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and don't want to release it till I'm mostly happy with it...

I figured it wouldn't hurt to poke this.  How's it going over there, Wintercross?  The demo video is fantastic.
