Severe Lag on ICO happened too frequently

Hi All,

Maybe you guys have also noticed that recently, there have been frequent instances of severe lags which can last up to 2-3 hours. Everyone's ping can shoot up to 10000+. Many people are complaining it's the Chinese players causing the problem, but I believe many international friends are also having this problem.

This post is not meant to complain or say bad things about ICO. Sins is a great game, I just hope the developers could kindly look into this issue and improve the quality of ICO connections, if possible.

Best Regards,

KP

From what I've been told by several Chinese players is that the Great Chinese Firewall is what gives them the problem...idk the details but basically the GCF forces them to do certain network shenanigans in order to play on ICO, and if those shenanigans aren't done quite right you get awful lag....

So, I think the lag is avoidable on their part...but it only takes one laggy player to lag down an entire game...

Yeah, basically only the chat and lobby is what you're doing on ICO. Once you start a game, players are pretty much peer-to-peer with one another.  Basic info pings back to ICO (like server messages and game stats) but that's about it.

Thanks for all your replied :)

The real issue at hand is, at certain point of the day, ALL players on ICO experienced severe lags, and it appeared to happen to ALL existing games. I don't have photos of evidence with me now, but honestly this is happening. This just makes me wonder whether it's because ICO server has maintenance hour each day.

No dude, it's not p2p when we choose use server as host....

And  this is normal setting for so many 5s games

There is a time more or less everyday where I think they do some "server maintenance" or something and ICO will lag during that window...but I recall it only being about an hour or so (around midnight)...

that depends on where you live
