Was Given New Copy of Game

Hey. I attempted to go through esupport.stardock.com, but I'm guessing I was in the wrong place as no one responded to my ticket and I posted just before Christmas.

I bought Galactic Civ II several years ago. I love the game. I've moved a few times since and recently got the urge to play again. I couldn't find my original disc, which led one of my friends to get me another one for Christmas. The serial that came with this new copy does not seem to work, which leads me to believe my friend bought it used and the previous owner still has the license. Is there anyway to use my old serial (which proves I purchased the game at some point) that is linked to me? I ask because it is hard to find new versions of the vanilla Galactic Civ II, and since I bought and downloaded the two expansions online several years ago, I really don't want to have to pay for the deluxe or ultimate or whatever version out now, as I've already bought everything.

I appreciate any help you guys may be able to offer.

If you registered the game originally, the account you made then should still exist and have your keys listed here. The download for the non-Ultimate versions isn't currently available on the store site, but support should be able to provide an alternative solution.

As we were closed over the holidays, support is likely a bit backed up. But so long as you did at least get the autoreply with your ticket number and have not replied to the ticket in the meanwhile (doing so resets your position in queue), they should get to your ticket before much longer if you can't locate your old account or need a download.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I followed your link, and it shows me the two expansions and an expansion bundle, but there is no serial listed for the original Galactic Civ II. I bought the original in a store, probably wal-mart, thought I don't recall. I am very sure I used the serial with it to update the game, however, I don't know that I did anything in addition to that. Are entering the serial and registering two separate processes?
