Feature request

last posting wanished so...

Please make it sticky, and repost in Valve/Steam Fora.

People, be short and self explanatory with suggestions/wishlist.

here it is:

 

"Love you guys (and gals? If any girls around, it might be prudent to let them voice something on public fora, we love chicks who dig games!).

I would dearly love to see a DLC with:

1. MP

2. more spells

3. modifiable spells by using Arcane supstances/mana/essence etc. (which modifies range, destructivity etc.)

4. tactical battles using terrain as bonus/malus for different places

5. tactical using visible and appliable bigger effects by being near wards that I already cast on realm screen, or within my domain etc.

6. great realm spells that for example give some form of shield over city and cties in their super version, and the casting of which is a fabulous animated event needing pre-set leylines in place.

7. arcane bombardment of distant cities or realms (not needed to be really accurate, and used something like superweapons in Sins of solar empire)

8. burrowing and underearth plane of existance

9. ethereal plane accessible through realm gates or by solving quests

10. a New campaign (s) by playing both factions going to one ending (like starcraft has it)

11. sea units (and I mean plural as in at least 25 different ones, monsters and ships alike)

11b. sea nations and settlements.

12. air units....


Wife screaming at me.....got to break for a bit.

13. Forging artifacts and brewing potions, in game mixing shards for super spells etc... Realm artifacts placed on land - like Ter'angreal from Wheel of time that enable Big things TM but paralyze caster for few turns...


14. shard wars. Shard has to have a natural beings resisting another faction's occupation (like death/life opposites)


15. more things/resources to sell and use between realms, and in unit/item creation. add tens of new resources. Diversity to insanity...


16. and dynasties. Not necessary like Crusader kings II, but we need them.. I wanna spawn little champs around.

17. bigger, huge-er maps. 64 bit maps. 4x bigger then this max we have!

18. modifiable links to resources from cities (vice versa actualy) and movable capital.

19. ley lines for realm spell that require feeding and last for more turns and are used via spells for spying and gouging monsters in certain direction...

20. arcane experiments with elements/resources/different shards connected ia leylines to create or discover new spells (dont just reward us after quest  show us the way to invent)

21. realm spells others can counter

22. more spells? did I post that already?

23. mountable beasts, monsters and dragons.

24. hatcheries for dragons - not just "train it when you build a whatever-map-upgrade - I want a quest and search or steal egg, hatch it (mix arcane stuff on it like in Amiga's Dragon's Breath), grow it and train. make them having personality, link psychycaly with sovereign for bonus. ride them...etc

I can certainly agree with

 

1. Ethereal and/or Underground plane. (both would be awesome ... or even a Spiritrealm(above), Dungeonrealm(below), and Shadowland/Hell(below the below)

 

2. Forging Artifacts (like MoM I guess?)

 

3. Sea Units (perhaps with cookiecutter units rather than a unit creator, and with auto-battle only?)

 

4. and Mountable Beasts (can't we still ride spiders though? and Scaths? or did that change)

 

--> also perhaps a bit more stability with the version? The current crish-crashiness (not that often but still noticable) reminds me of my Morrowind emulator.

 

 

ps. I certainly want MP at *some* point, but its not high on my priorities right now.

 

pss. Dragon hatcheries sound kinda cool, but not sure if its for this game ... or maybe as a Racial ability of the Urxen? :) 

 

And introducing

5. re-introduce the Capitar and Urxen in an Expansion or DLC

 

(Urxen as a numerous race that treats to beasts, especially Dragons (ie Dragon hatchery), and has a BeastLord Soveriegn)

(Capitar having a couple unique buildings instead of unique equipment (for the production of gold), Mercenary focus,  and of course a General Sovereign Carrodus)

I like a lot of these suggestions except for MP. As far as I'm concerned, any development time toward MP is wasted because it could be spent on better things.

I just don't think 4X games lend themselves well toward MP, and I get annoyed when I read patch notes that have a billion MP bug fixes on them.  :annoyed:

I don't think there is any reason to actively attack/inhibit MP ... especially since we have heard that ~30% of the budget went to dedicated virtual servers.

 

I DO think that at this point, features and stability should be the focus of current in-progress DLC. (assuming that DLC work started after release, of course)

I mean it could just be my computer, but the game tends to have shaky stability at best, and disappearing oceans at worst. I've also noticed that unit traits in the unit designer  can be frozen/un-deselectable (if you are editing a pre-existing or pre-created design).

So that, for instance, if I had Charge, and I wanted to get rid of the trait in favor of new traits, I couldn't but instead would have to create a new unit from scratch to get the desired traits.

---> Current fixes are to either exit main menu and load OR to exit game and re-launch, depending on the severity of the bug.

currently nothing 'gamebreaking' but still kind of (mildly) frustrating.

 

ps. I voted 'Good' by the way, but I think that the game-play is Excellent ;)

It would be great if Froggy would acknoledge the suggesions and create a official "we are interested in this first...."

Another idea to give DLCs to players that brong 1-2 new players/customers !

I would say even more - why not introduce spells triggered by place/event etc.

spell que of sorts for cities, units, places, borders, resources etc...

a bomb would be awsome.as a strategic realm warding spell...s
