[Please note that this issue has been resolved and the the fix has been incorporated into the full installer.]
We've created a new installer that should fix any current Fences 2 activation issues. Uninstall, reboot your computer, then reinstall with this:

is it included in just released Fences 2.0.1 ? if i just removed 2.0.0 and installed 2.0.1 - do i still need this patch ?
This doesn't work for me. I purchased Fences about 10 days ago,and have never been able to activate it, and am getting very sketchy customer service. Everytime I post a reply to the open ticket for this issue I get an unsatisfactory answer which does not fix my issue. I know it's only 10 bucks but come on, really?

Please note that replying to a support ticket before receiving a reply from technical support will reset the activity counter on the ticket. This will move your ticket to the end of our incoming work queue and delay our response. This is done to prevent abuse of our support system with multiple SPAM-like replies.
In any case, I've responded to your ticket (I've merged the two you created since they were related.)
I just bought 2.0 as an upgrade. Do I need to uninstall what I have first? I have some Fences on a second page. Should I move it the desktop first?
And, when I go through the uninstall/install process, will I be starting from scratch -- i.e., a bunch of icons on my desktop, completely unorganized?
How can I see what version of Fences is installed?
You don't need to uninstall anything. Instll over what you have.
If ypu are using1.x you will be asked if you want to back up your settings. Otherwise, you are fine.
The veraion number is on the about secion of the config.
